In the evening a shorter one to the Studenice part of Boč to the Formila clearing hiking from Studenice and of course back. Route:Boč/Formila, 09.04,2012 No time for more today, but even miniature snapshots have their charm...

Boč is a bit out of reach for us Ljubljana folks. That's why we visited it for the first time only today. Up through Balunjača, down along the Shady Path and past the hut to the starting point. Beautiful mountain!

Today (05.05.2012) ascent from the parking lot above Poljčane along the Detička path all the way to the viewpoint. Since we were in running form we got up in exactly one hour. View very solid, from Uršlja gora in NW all the way to Varaždin in E, Celje peaks like on the palm... Down to the hut and along the slopes with rollers past baba back to parking. Super thing. Before I went to Boč more often, but with that petrol price it's ok when I come once a year now... that beauty deserves it too! With me was also friend Cviko.

Today, 19.05.2012 hiking Y variant to Boč to the viewpoint tower from Studenice in combination with quite a few less known and frequented paths - old Roman road, connecting but unmarked hunting paths and finally along the mountain path past Balunjača to the top to the tower and return back to Studenice with a small addition along the old Roman road to the road leading to the tower on Boč... Route:Boč nad Studenicami, 19.05.2012 Good and dynamic combination, which I walk here and there but don't talk and write too much about !? ...

Hiking to Boč from Studenice in combination of the old Roman road and after exiting the Roman road at 740 m.a.s.l. in the penultimate bend to the left - also along the forest road to the RTV tower. During the ascent also into four sections off the main path but as I expected there were no real continuations and I quickly ended up in pathless terrain. I somewhat expected the sections to be extended recently with forest tracks, since they've been logging a lot on Boč but it wasn't so. Still a nice path, which was very slippery today especially on the rocky parts, very suitable temperature and no wind. Route:Boč RTV stolp via Studenice, 10.06.2012 After correction total 14.37 km and 850 m elevation... Next time I'll pull a more dynamic "spur without exploratory sections" and add to the combination another old - much more abandoned Roman road that has survived to this day for at least partial circular combination in the Studenice part of Boč...

I don't go to Boč very often, maybe because I can observe it every day right through the living room window. Here in Pohorje there's already a saying that when Boč puts on a foggy cap, bad weather is sure to follow. Today morning it looked like that too, but as we drove towards Poljčane this foggy cap surprisingly started to disappear slowly. That was definitely a good sign for starting the path from the parking lot in Zgornje Poljčane. After the initial gentle part the path starts to climb steeper and steeper. We could hardly keep up with the youngest son , as he was darting ahead like something pinched his butt. Higher we turned left over Balunjača. There are some fixed ropes installed, but they wouldn't even be necessary. On the top in strong wind we climbed to the tower, but the views were poor, as mists were constantly racing here and there. Then followed a direct descent to the hut on Boč, where we run into acquaintances. With them we drink hot tea, and then together head down to the starting point. Otherwise the path is currently still normally passable and dry, but conditions will change considerably with the arrival of frost, as then the path can become quite slippery and muddy. And nice mountain greeting.

Boč is an easily accessible peak even in winter and in snow. It was like this yesterday, 30. 10.

Hiking to Boč viewpoint tower from Studenice. Partly circular connection of both parts of the old Roman road on ascent through Stara Drevesnica and descent under Formilo, three shorter forest road sections towards RTV tower on Boč and path to viewpoint tower over Boč ridge...Track:Boč above Studenice, 10.11.2012. Paths partly dry and windy below and on top of Boč. Nice insight into Studenice part of Boč.

Path over Galke from Pečica starting point was today more than ready track for late afternoon hiking activity in Boč area. Yes, Pečica pass is somewhere extreme western distinct starting point for Boč and Galke path in opinion of many ... nicest mountain path to PD Poljčane hikers' hut on Boč. I'd agree as mountain path is diverse and dynamic enough. Today on ascent also directly to Galke summit at 658m along ridge. Extension after forest exit to pasque flower site to make activity more concrete and then quick return to Pečica exactly along marked mountain path. Nice afternoon snapshot and I'd say distinct western view of Boč...Track:Boč/Galke, 13.11.2012 Lp Bruno/bruny

Path over Galke but today from Lovnik starting point by Bela stream was welcome choice for shorter activity on western areas of Boč. Shorter in km but for late afternoon quite solid with elevation and partly exploratory. For more and not to repeat too much further along ridge northeast and first time to summit or elevation point...Source:Geopedia 687 meters. Point not named in literature and need to ask hunters or foresters if there's perhaps ,,local name,,. It was planned several times and today in dense fog and light drizzle on wet terrain finally to top. Good decision as no views anyway. Return along ridge and for nice end and kind of ,,mini Galke Y,, also descent to original Pečica pass starting point and then back to Bela stream valley. Yes, miniature and again interesting insight into western world of Boč. Slowly running out of summits or points in wider Boč area ...but something undiscovered will turn up. Track:Boč/Galke, 21.11.2012 Lp Bruno/bruny

Today, 24.11.2012, quick ascent to Boč. Up the educational forest path, down past Balunjača and Baba after refreshment in hut. No views because cloud settled on mountain top... At Balunjača nice news - some bolts hammered in rocks. Does this mean a nice climbing route will appear here like on neighboring Konjiška gora?

Today I went to Boč, ascent via educational path past Balunjača where fallen tree hinders cave access. At top no views as fog and strong wind so didn't climb tower at all, plus dripping from trees like rain. So quick descent via "Shadow Path" past mountain hut under Boč and via Baba to start. To cover the day drove to Slovenska Bistrica and checked Bistriški vintgar, that's another story VIDEO-BOČ-24.november 2012 Lp! Tone

I was convinced that Mali Boč is Dreveniška gora and among acquaintances and friends it somehow held...Some time ago more detailed review...Source:Geopedia and realization original geographical name Mali Boč exists in western part of Boč. Within today's circular hiking activity right moment and so jump to above area. Nothing special and most interesting was dynamic ridge continuing apparently towards Galke summit. Typical spot for hunters and foresters. Still new discovery. Snow line on Boč today at PD Poljčane hikers' hut on Boč. Snow just a sample. Lp Bruno/bruny
