I apologize to all hikers because I was wrong about Boč, I called it a hill but it's actually a mountain with an elevation difference of 618 m l.p.

This afternoon from Studenice to the Boč area, where real winter still "rules" - between Formila-partisan hospital-climbing area and the forest road below Stavski vrh. This is a spot that even on quite long March days is minimally - better said almost not at all - sunlit and also poorly ventilated. The result is that cold night air lingers throughout the day and there's no real thaw. Such areas on Boč locals call "gjače". This is also practically the only longer forest road section in the wider Boč area that isn't plowed in winter. I was surprised because there were no tracks either and what I  wanted - I happily plowed through from Formila, past the partisan hospital, climbing area to the forest road Makole - Gavez, which is nonstop drivable in winter. The military facility on Boč also used somewhat altered road routes this winter, but I won't comment more due to "military secret". Yeah, it was quite nice - with strong thaw in the valley and sunnier spots on Boč, I still felt solid winter in the hinterland of Formila clearing.

From Studenice today direct and "sharp" to Boč to the viewpoint combining various paths and terrains. I'd sign under this route without worry even in more official views but there are already more than enough marked paths on Boč...Below and on top of Boč still some snow, path wet and also muddy. Descent today via III. educational path to Volavšek. At Volavšek dilemma about descent to the pasque flower site and preview "if they are already or not yet". It was St. Gregory's but also very foggy so to the site another time in better conditions. With my buddy we decided for descent via Styrian brotherhood path to Formila and then combination of mountain path to Makole and forest road to Poljčane/Studenice for a nice circular end of today's tour. Another look at Boč summit on ascent in somewhat more practical and direct direction while descent for circular effect less direct. Of course the whole path known but still first time connected in this route:Boč/viewpoint towerRegards

Today no "special story", but from starting point "Panzeršpere" in the Bela stream valley before Lovnik settlement via Galka oven to the pasque flower site on Boč. Yeah, as I predicted due to long winter with lots of snow and relatively early Easter time they still "haven't come out". At the site still some small snow and only a few first snowdrops as seen from photos too. So let's give it time... time. On return a bit towards Pečica pass for a short "Boč Y", so the shorter hiking activity wasn't just "up & down". Path mostly dry with some snow patches and no wind. Regards

Ascent to Boč before forecasted rain. Up Detička path alone on made track, then other side past the hut and from there by road to start with pleasant chat with local.

Yes, it really was a fairy tale, so we had to go twice to the top of Boč to enjoy that winter beauty, the camera stayed at home though, as we didn't expect such beautiful motifs. Yes, I missed the sunshine.

Yes, pasque flower , gotta go see it.
We also started in Zgornje Poljčane, educational trail over Balunjača, then to hut for refreshment, back to top, easier path back towards Poljčane, then tangled in some spur where we realized under Balunjača avalanches in bad conditions damaged trees a lot, I was really surprised,... winter makes this path more demanding as few choose it.
So now moved to Boč as then water filling in Studenice. Sure, how long free.

That flower along the path is dog's tooth, now it's already near the end of blooming ...
How didn't you find the pasque flower meadows?
From the hut you can see the fenced area where this flower grows, just ask a bit and other hikers would tell you.

@Tonika.. I have a well-meant tip .. play a bit with white balance settings (WB - White Balance) ..so that the photos will be even nicer..
