Well, already a good week ago... but conditions haven't changed much. Except that on the classic to Brana there's really no more question about winter gear. Bosova and Kaptan's ridge were anyway already "normally" passable (of course considering it's unmarked path).

That's not Bosova gully. The entry photo is already wrong. The spot in the photo is to the right of the entry into Bosova gully. There, where after about 10 min you turned left and soon reached the ridge, you should have turned right. You walked about 1/4 of Bosova gully. Attaching photo of the real entry.

Yes, higher up I know it wasn't Bosova, neighboring easier one nasmeh

But I didn't know the entry itself was wrong, because it matched the description perfectly. Unless the author of that description made the same mistake nasmeh

Thanks for the note. But really lower down, before the gully itself, I went too far right on the wrong side of the scree tongue and thus didn't even see the real entry.

If you looked at the description that Google finds, then you're right - that's the wrong description. The summer variant of Bosova grapa is indeed a bit tricky orientation-wise. That's why it's all the more beautiful ... cool

Haven't seen it in any guidebook myself. Not even for the classic winter variant. Well, if push comes to shove, I can put something together 'for friends', as they say. nasmeh

Judging by the trodden path it seems most go along this wrong one. Especially in the passage from the right gully to Bosovo it's clear it doesn't stand empty.

Yes, probably because in the orientation-critical part the logical direction is wrong. Most also mistake the entry - the most obvious entry is wrong too and after ca. 50 m you cross left through tedious scrub.

Today's morning Brana. Path itself without features, except some path bypass due to snow, which poses no problem. Top foggy and windy. Hut, unfortunately closed. Nice mountaineering greeting.

Just before the snow patch we leave the marked path.

For today the weather forecast wasn't anything pleasant, so I headed only to the nearby hill. Already in the morning it was supposed to rain in the west - well at least no clouds were visible anywhere. zmeden

The road is again in slightly worse condition (not due to rain), but pleasantly surprised by new quality steps below Pastirci. In the hut I meet new warden, stove is fired up, sadly no guests. Snow on Brana is past, no clouds, wind or cold, so I stay on top a whole hour. On descent meet three hikers, one almost in swimsuit eek

Plahtica in nicest bloom, so snack a bit at saddle too...

I don't know if the question is in place but anyway.. Which road is worse? Did you park at the house in Kamniška Bistrica or drive to Jermanca? Driving to the latter is supposedly forbidden but I have the feeling that everyone pushes the car to the end. I don't know these areas, I'm gathering info.

If you don't have small kids it's better to start right in K.Bistrica. The road is worse on some section towards Jermanci. About the sign there has been lots of talk already, but it doesn't mean you can't drive further by car!

Today on Brana. Started at Jermanci. At the hut over coffee I met the wife of the new caretaker. Nice, friendly woman.
In nice weather, almost no wind and at suitable temperature to the top. Met some hikers, not really many.
On return we chatted long in front of the hut with the new caretaker. Even treated me to coffee.
Full of flowers.
He says we've got used to Jerca and Simon, but I'm sure they're a super team at the hut.

On Friday 7.8. I did the trail to Brana from Kamniška Bistrica. Trail without special features, weather excellent, quite a few hikers, indeed among so many you see all sorts. nasmeh

Yesterday we went with friends to Kamniško sedlo for the stamp for our youngest, which the older son and I used for ascent to Brana, where he hadn't been yet.
A huge number of hikers, all parking lots full, at 14.30 at the hut nothing left to eat. Weather partly cloudy and views rather poor.

Kalška gora, Kokrsko sedlo and Grintovec

on descent to the saddle however quite cold

on descent surprisingly everything empty

12.9. From Rinka waterfall to Okrešelj. After some years nice to go up. Continuation to Kamniško sedlo. And to Brana. Quite a few hikers. But no bad mood on the trail. Quite a few young ones seen. At top really nice. Space enough for all. We descended the ascent trail.

It is placed upright higher above the path towards Kamniško sedlo.

The hut warden said Kamniško sedlo was very crowded over the weekend.
So today nicely calm. At Jermanci in the morning only 3 cars.
A bit below the summit I caught up with Natalija and Nastja, so we walked to the top together.
Weather nice, no wind.
Hut at saddle open till 11.10.
