Saturday's Brana solitary. Like it's a completely different mountain. Respect. Last gully before summit part nicely snow-covered. Can be bypassed right on rocks, for descent still used ice axe. Path via kotli except 2 traverses dry and ok.

On Brana, winter gear mandatory, short sleeves all the way to the summit. Met some on the way to Kamniško sedlo.

Sunday, 9.1.2022

Some new snow to Kamniško sedlo. More or less packed trail. Didn't need crampons up to there. Windblown snow under the Brana wall. Traverse directly under the wall and then a bit before the signpost along the classic winter route right of the rock to Brana summit. Snow / ice is hard packed all the way to the top. Descent the same.

The later the better to avoid thunderstorm possibilities and summits get rid of clouds at the end. Started late around 16:30 from Jermanca. Another hiker overtook me, went to saddle. Below summit on marked ...in notch snow, so better go right up before that, pathless, short part. Windy, better than heat. Descent back to saddle, observing chamois, no one around and calm. Descent over scree

Some today's snapshots from the nice path to Brana starting from Jermanci. The path is normally passable. In the notch and before the exit before the Brana summit there's still a little snow but it can be easily bypassed.

Keep such wisdom to yourself, so no inexperienced person copies you and actually gets into hail, like yesterday between 7 and 8 pm. Unless for you "as late as possible" means at 11 pm, even then it can be interesting.

I wrote for myself and not as advice to others, inexperienced can get advice from mountain guides....I monitor the events, radar image, and usually thunderstorms are in the afternoon or late evening, in between the weather mostly holds.
