Challenge in the mountains

The thing with rocks is pretty wild in the mountains. When I went to Montasio, over the upper glacier the path to the entrance was kinda airy on its own, because I wasn't exactly sure if I was going the right way. Right in front of me there were some foreigners without helmets; already high up, another group of foreigners, and the party started. Rocks kept flying down nonstop; the foreigners and I hid like a hawk was chasing us. Return via Lojtra: I waited for all groups behind me and let them go ahead, because before over the glacier they were really a bit clumsy and careless. They didn't care about those below, who were still completely unequipped with sneakers. Well, over that Lojtra it was exciting again; rocks were flying down, one triggering rocks for the other, and it was foggy too. On the way to the ibex, like statues

We four students went in summer 2003 to Jalovec via Špička. With my buddy at Vršič we still had a little drink, the other two went ahead to wait, saying they knew the path. We follow them, but no sign of them. No signal. Just before Špička we get signal and they had gone too early right from Vršič towards Mojstrovka, already over the notch... Then they went back and after us, one had a hangover from the day before and waited at the hut anyway. When we three continued to Jalovec, I remember some Czechs who triggered such an amount of rocks above us that we hid under a rock, on our knees and hands over our heads, rocks flying over us. Helmets? Nobody had one back then

It got pretty lively. Your "topic" is more for ego stroking.

LG, you could already write a book titled - Dangerous Adventures in the Mountains - and earn some royalties on the print run .

LG, if you forget the promise, fulfill it. When you went to Montasio you promised the marmots you'd bring paper to wrap chocolate, not just talk, fulfill the promise. It's a bit much that you bother everyone, but do you have any paper? lp

Well here's another one of mine... nice weather forecast for the morning, but thunderstorms in the hilly area in the afternoon. I meet my buddy in Vrata still in pitch dark. He keeps rushing me to stuff everything needed into the backpack...and I do hurry a bit and already rushing after him. Buddy is fast as lightning, barely catching up when he's climbing in the dark over Sovatna towards Dovška vrata. The pace bothers me a bit, even more the flash of his camera, as constant shooting blinds me nonstop. Pace is really fast and below Dovška vrata I'm starting to tire, I'd like to drink a bit, but on the other hand don't want to hinder his drive, so I quietly continue the ascent. Getting sweatier and sweatier, nausea hits me when I realize I'm climbing WITH LG......I wake up soaked, but happy that it was all just a nightmare!!! You know....GUYS, STORIES MATTER!!! Lp Klemen

These guys were bold: Slovenes skiing off-piste and triggered avalanche Near Trbiž four young Slovenian skiers decided to ski off groomed runs. While skiing they triggered an avalanche that buried them. Luckily the cable car operator was attentive enough to prevent tragedy. Four young Slovenian skiers, including a ski instructor, decided on a bold move while skiing in Italy. According to Italian newspaper Il Piccolo they skied off groomed runs and near the intermediate station of Trbiž–Višarje cable car triggered an avalanche. It partially buried the skiers. One skier had only his head above surface. Thanks to the focus and attention of the cabin cable car operator the skiers got away well. The operator stopped the cable car and thus prevented the cabin from crashing into the snow and thus into the skiers. Rescuers then came to help the Slovenian skiers and pulled them out of the snow. The skiers escaped uninjured, but according to Il Piccolo authorities charged them for triggering the avalanche and disabling the cable car for 15 minutes. Source: 24ur

Flashback to 2011, it was summer and I decided for Mrzla gora, I did the tour without issues, went Mrzla gora-Križ-Kranjska Rinka-Štajerska Rinka-Turki žleb-Brana-Kamniško sedlo-Logarska dolina. Lasted 9 hours. There are also many tours I did without problems. Solo hiking is different than in company, cuz last year we went again, but we three continued from Mrzla to Križ from there just descent via the gully to Okrešelj, water ran out, no panic for me, would've found some "glacier" piece in some hole, like once when from the top I crawled over some steep rocks to get to hard snow.

Everyone knows for themselves how much they drink,,, I for example always bring home enough stuff to drink, it's true but I don't drink every half hour (in winter max half a liter,,in summer of course more - more than 2 liters I've never drunk)

@snork: there was no panic, we were climbing the waterfall on the other side and heard it twice in between. God forbid that this avalanche catches you.

Now you have an even harder task ahead, to separate weeds, blackberries, bushes from real plants. If you don't know the plant, it's even much harder to make order.

I didn't know that blackberry isn't a plant. Man really learns all his life.

Mess is always hard to tidy up, especially if you don't know what you want to make out of the mess.

@LG. Better tell something about fishing; unfortunately, you have no idea about nature and mountains.

Neee. Now you won't stop, we've just gotten used to you. If you mean it seriously, then post your picture so we can get to know you; anyway, you have no proof that you've been anywhere. I don't know if you work in some photo studio to have so many pics, I'm just asking

Ljubitelj gora just doesn't understand the essence of hribi.net. Up here we are to help each other with descriptions, tips. It's very nice to look at pictures from our outings. He just posts one and the same or rubbish on the forum, never tells a complete story, the essence. Safe step in the mountains to all, including him.
