On Sunday family to Vitranc and Ciprnik. Up from Jasna, down via ski slope and summer toboggan. Path from Jasna with increased traffic in recent years becoming more eroded (in steep and ridge part), I assume they will gradually reinforce it now that Thematic park Vitranc is promoted. Just like they this year praiseworthily fixed the path from ski slope in upper part on most problematic sections. Tobogganing after the tour is super fun for kids, but quite expensive (8 eur per person, free under 6).

Today I dedicated a visit to it from Jasna. Small crampons stayed in backpack. From Jasna path in rocks iced over, I returned via ski slope

Current conditions on the path from Jasna interest me and back via ski slope?

Since snow melts during the day and freezes at night, small crampons are needed. From Mojca's hut to Ciprnik there is quite more snow and drier snow.

http://www.hribi.net/izlet/jasna_ciprnik_mimo_mojcinega_doma/1/709/1269 Might go on this hike Thursday morning, start around 7am. Is this path entirely decently trodden, passable without major issues? Any sections where extra care needed? Here I mean the crossings visible in photos in upper description, exposed parts, steeper parts, path section with cables and access to summit itself. Probably at least crampons (gaiters?) and poles needed? Goes without ice axe?

All trodden, regarding gear it's a matter of personal judgment. I due to thaw didn't need anything, otherwise would use small crampons. Need to be careful when path crosses north slope of Vitranc and steeply rises to ridge and then below very summit part of Ciprnik.

There's still quite a bit of snow on the ridge and at the summit...

This year the weather was extremely favorable for the ski jumping holiday and it would definitely be a sin to miss it. I decided to visit on Sunday, invited Ani along and shortly after eight we set off from Jasna uphill. The path was dry for quite a way, later it alternated between ice and snow, but it didn't slow us down. After a short break before Mojca's hut we reached the summit when the first flyer had already completed his flight. The combination of distant view (almost two km), binoculars, announcer's sound system, and TV broadcast on smartphones gives you an approximate picture of the action 800m below. The TV broadcast is a bit annoying due to the time delay, as the competitor is already in the outrun when the TV reporter is just announcing him . There were fewer 'spectators' on the hill than last year, and for added fun, Hungry Kekec was circling above us again. We didn't notice increased traffic on the road either in the morning or in the afternoon when most spectators had already left the venue. Visibility was great, so I took some photos.

Today from Jasna to Ciprnik and then to Visoka peč. Path without problems and dry. I'd just mention that on the descent from Ciprnik towards Visoka peč there's a fallen spruce. First I climbed over it, on the way back under it. It's doable, but you might get a bit scratched. Otherwise the path is fine, not like marked ones, but everyone can expect that from unmarked paths.

Today we finally stepped onto the summit of Ciprnik. We planned to do it a couple of years ago, but the heat and steepness from Kr. gora over the ski slope to Mojca's hut wiped us out so much that we couldn't go further... Today we quickly decided for the hunters' path from Planica, as we started late morning, but still enjoyed most of the path in the shade, and met only a few hikers. Along the way already views of Jalovec, Ponce and the ski jumps. It took us good two hours ascent. On the ridge and summit there was a bit more visitors, including instant "hikers" with fashionable superga shoes and selfies. Oh, the logbook is already full, didn't notice any stamp. And tons of ants and other bugs on the summit... Views from the summit are really wonderful, worth observing! We returned the same way and recommend it. It's marked from the Planica hut with markers and no need to look for the cairn at the torrent, the path nicely follows more or less along the gully and leads to the ridge. Happy trails!

"Instant hikers"? Can't you just enjoy yourselves without labeling someone? If other visitors and their gear bother you so much, why not choose a solitary peak where you'll be alone?

No worries, today we "simply enjoyed" the solitude on a two-thousander (above crowded Vršič). Otherwise - no comment...
