When I see what's happening to some in old age, I'm really scared of the coming years. We're late in changing elderly care policy and also employment and education policy. We need a concrete blow.

Drago, just don't forget to breathe. Both my parents are older than you, we live together, none of us is panicking, even though parents are a risk group. We live as normally as possible, follow measures on wearing masks in enclosed spaces and not socializing with others. We've already been 2x in a position where we could have been infected (1x due to my colleague, 2nd due to neighbor), but luckily we weren't. With the neighbor being younger and living in the house with boyfriend's parents, but parents didn't get infected, luckily. As I say, I'm not an expert, but surely some solution would be found if we delved a bit into it. How do other countries solve this? Our government only knows how to delve into how to rake in more money, of course at our expense. If someone believes our government works for citizens' good, lives in great delusion. But I don't understand how banning smoking in enclosed spaces (that was one of the best things they've done in all these years) is the same as the current situation?? You know it's not just about bars, right? I won't even talk about children's education and lack of socialization due to distance learning. You don't realize what long-term consequences this will have on kids.

ppegan, you breathe too long-term consequences for kids? Seriously? The current society's psychological state is the product of traumatized generations over time.

Polona, you didn't answer your own statement above, how the elderly could be protected in other ways. You yourself note that despite strict measures, there's a possibility that older people than us get infected. (I count myself among the younger, especially in spirit. ) If measures were relaxed, there would surely be more infections among the elderly, consequently packed hospitals. Do you want that? "How do other countries solve it?" Why ask, we know it's similar to us. Whether ahead or behind us with measures. Maybe they'll relax movement between municipalities so you can go to your favorite peaks and "breathe" again. I also breathe while raking leaves and grass.

@zokipoki I'm breathing, no worries, better than most here, obviously. At the same time, I still think with my own head. I work in education and believe me, I know what I'm talking about. @Drago, I've already written 2x that I'm not an expert. If I were, I'd delve into the matter and definitely study something smarter. Especially in nursing homes, a lot could be done. I don't even want to emphasize this too much, since the purpose of the first post was different from what you want to portray now. Maybe read it one more time, since I see you didn't read it well If they really relax movement between municipalities, then Gorenjska looks good, at least something. @Martin, what's wrong with our posts? Isn't this the Covid-19 topic? Doesn't our discussion relate to this topic? I don't understand why the admin should intervene. Did we offend anyone?

Guys and gals - because I usually just joke around. You really talk nicely and politely about tough topics. It's very hard for all of us. What to do, I don't know. Open conversation is a nice start. Although yesterday the cop for the devil wouldn't understand that after a recovered infection and short sitting on a bench I surely don't represent a key threat in the fight against the virus well, he was fair in the end and we parted with a warning (I really didn't know I can't sit on a public bench, so many rules...). Hello and peace to all!

Polona said everything right. The question of what she would do in the government position is simply put stupid. What has this government done good except take care of its own cartel? Regarding corona absolutely nothing. The measures were obviously the most ineffective of all possible and even destructive, otherwise we wouldn't have come first in the world in deaths. All those we always made fun of have lagged behind us. How is this possible? Are we really only guilty because we are Slovenes, that they are destroying us for future generations too?

This is going nowhere. If you think the government will save you, you're very mistaken and yes, it's very important what an individual would do in that position. zippo what would you do? I know what I would, if I were in PV's place and if the situation was epidemiologically serious.

Zokipoki, it doesn't even cross my mind to hope that the state will act for the benefit of citizens or as you say, save us. But it should sensibly guide us, which it definitely doesn't now. And maybe enlighten us how you would act, I'm seriously interested. Would you lock us in the sheds?

I wouldn't lock you in the shed, you'd stay home yourself. First I'd activate general civil protection and on-site care. In the same move I'd get the funds that would enable it. Right after I'd reject any interference from the economic and entrepreneurial chamber. Yes, we'd lock down, but we wouldn't be screwed and the helping hand would cover everyone who needs help. Especially I'd look after the elderly and children, so they wouldn't be in the grip of shortage at any level. True, the money would be borrowed, I admit, but it could be done. I'd indebt us to the end ...even the children of my children would pay it off, but they'd know why! Slovenian politicians have no balls.

Why would you stay home yourself? I would never do that, at least not of my own free will. You know that movement in fresh air is one of the key factors during the epidemic that contributes to well-being and health, and at the same time strengthens the immune system? And vitamin D is also recommended these days, for which it's good to go a bit in the sun. So your solution would be to deny us even that piece of freedom we have, and ban any movement. I can only applaud you.

Who is to blame for the current situation? 1. Government because it adopted measures too late. 2. This left politics because they relentlessly undermine measures and incite people to disobey in the desire to overthrow the government to come back to power. They are like a child whose toy was taken. They don't care if so many people die, if economy goes to hell. To achieve their goal they are ready to ruin the country. 3. People, those who don't follow measures, either from carelessness, egoism, spite, resistance to Janša, because they got brainwashed or simply (corona) dumb. Doesn't matter. You see it right away: in Italy even in smallest villages ALL wear masks, with us in LJ somehow (more control there), in our smaller municipality, say, good half. 4. Police and authorities for monitoring measures: They still fine only movement that doesn't spread virus, not contacts that do. Easiest to stand by the road and ticket, instead of walking around terrain and checking. On our playground kids play and adults socialize like pre-corona. No distance, no masks. I wrote to police, they said 14 days ago they'd check daily but still the same. Also because of incompetent police it's like it is. So everyone is a bit guilty.

Yes, but Primož, Polona is right on one side. Behind this 'quite normal functioning' human fates are hidden.

Sorry, but since when is human fate important again? Thanks, Polona! If the plan succeeded, you wouldn't be hurt, no worry. Epidemic time is not time for saving economy and certainly not healthcare.
