@Irina, yes, lately I write a bit less… zadrega

. My better half is on 'forced strike' (spine surgery, recovery slower than expected…)…so lately we are more on flat walks… I'm adapting, and it's not hard at all, because I know he would too if situation reversed, and simply we enjoy being together anywhere nasmeh

…and sometimes we just marvel how many beautiful nature corners we discover even in the valley, which maybe we never would otherwise… but some day 'for the soul' I also 'steal'… nasmeh

I wish your hubby the quickest recovery. Nature takes its own paths. Often differently than we wish, expect and as written in medical books. Every body is something special, so give it the time it needs. Even the thought that it doesn't go as expected stresses the body. Our thoughts determine us.

Enjoy winter walks and enjoy the happiness of having each other.
I look forward to your descriptions and photos of "stolen" days.

I'm interested in which days of the week the hut on Dobrča is open in March and how it is with snow, probably trodden? Regards

The Dobrča hut is open on weekends. The path is always trodden anyway. I've been going to Dobrča for 10 years, and I've never had the chance to break trail, because up there they are always walking and running. nasmeh

I was training on Dobrča today. Despite bad weather, quite a few people. Running conditions very tough, since the snow is so soft that even the trail breaks through. At the top it was almost romantic, as light snow was falling.

Three sunsets part 3. After Vošca and Tolsti vrh, Dobrča came next... nice midday March 3rd and walk to the hut (we didn't feel like going to the top at any cost... it was too beautiful nasmeh

) Mojca joined Katty and me again.
First we stopped at Tonček's on Podgorska planina for the obligatory schnapps... then to friend Milan at the hut... of course also for struklji and vamps jezik

... followed by afternoon sunbathing, as it was 31 degrees in the sun eek

Of course we waited for the sunset at the hut... and slowly down the road to the valley to the car. After three days I still had to drive home to Mb... and I have to admit I wasn't tired at all... Nature gives back energy... you just have to know how to accept it! velik nasmeh

Yes really, it was nice nasmeh

....Despite slight fatigue from previous days, walking on the snow-covered but nicely groomed gravel path was idyllic... well, almost idyllic jezik

....The views of the highest peaks in the Julian Alps already midway melted us all... pampered us nasmeh

...That last part of the path oh so beautiful... then southern slopes of Stol and Begunjščica open up nasmeh

...The hut is always quite visited because of super caretakers... and that's right.Thermometer allegedly showed before the hut, believe it or not, 31 degrees eek

....Yes yes, spring is knocking.Sunbathing on Gorenjska beach is simply enjoyable nasmeh

....and fits.Finally I see and understand why Dobrča is Gorenjska balcony.The name suits it, as the view opens quite far nasmeh

...With all that, struklji fit perfectly, and yes, so excellent that I eat them slowly... such a shame velik nasmeh

...I don't eat vamps, so I take Bačo's word that they're very tasty.Laughter and good mood don't let us down to the valley yet.We wait for sunset, which at the end of the day, as pictures show, was wonderful nasmeh

...Yes, worth waiting, and go back to start in lantern light.

Finally Dobrča welcomed me in beautiful clear.... and of course warm, almost summer warm weather nasmeh

.Company was super anyway, smiling, good mood and just as it should be nasmeh

.Yes, how nice to share such magical special moments with those who mean something to you... and both do... quite a bit nasmeh

Can someone tell me please how it is up there these days? And where's best to start (because of snow)? And how long does it take to hike.. average.. not really in shape after this winter...

I was there Sunday, started from Brezje near Tržič, except first 15 min snow all the way, at the top surely more than 1 m. The trail is trodden directly to the top, to the hut not.

on this forum and also on board at start normed 2 hours and a half... how much each spends on path per norms depends on individual... hard to judge... zmeden

Otherwise nothing special on path, but wanna praise our esteemed forecasters, as with yesterday's forecast for today ("mostly sunny") they really showed all their knowledge and expertise... jezen
