Donačka gora

Who minds the flag on top of Donačka? Let the photos speak, whoever did or made this is not and won't be a mountaineer. It's clearly visible that the wind didn't do it, screws were removed. Found the pole on the north side below the summit, upper part with flag nowhere.

Condemnable act and primitivism, that one is not and won't be a mountaineer, not even a Slovene eekcooljezen

I can't say that it's been like that for sure one week, namely I saw it but didn't even dream that it could be vandalism! Namely the flag was already a bit torn and I thought in that direction that someone could have taken it down.. but it's true that in this time one could easily have put a new one up..

Today there were quite a few people up there, even a whole bus of small kids! Gotta start with the little ones, yeah!

Today after a long time back on top (last 17.6), sadly knee injury spoiled all plans for this year, so way behind this year's goal.. Wind on top blowing so hard that only book entry possible. On path met two people and as reward below dog Charlie.

@ stankoju

On Saturday read article about hiked Slovenian Mountain Trail or Transversal, i.e., shortly, from Maribor to Ankaran. Really only hat's off, nothing else to say!

Since I haven't been up there for a while, today I went to the top twice. Kupčinji vrh via cables to the top, descent to Sv. Donat and on to Rudi's hut and again via cables to the top and descent back to the car. The path is quite slippery on the north sidezavijanje z očmi, otherwise nice autumn day.

Hello Styrians.
I'm wondering how long an averagely fast hiker would need for the route: Poljčane train station-Boč-Donačka Hill-Rogatec train station?

The route is around 35 km in optimal length, elevation gain around two thousand meters. Perhaps the most annoying is the descent to Rogatec. From the mountain hut it's a bit over 6 km of asphalt, where one can actually mežikanjefollow the verges and meadows along the path. But on this descent there are also very nice views and friendly locals along the way
Train departures from Rogatec (source SŽ) - weekdays two at 16:42 and 17:48, Saturday no connections, Sunday one at 17:48. Lp

I got information from two older hikers that in the former joint state there existed a hiking trail from Donačka Hill to Ravna Hill in Croatian Zagorje. The trail was also marked. Does anyone know anything more specific about this connection?

It existed and is still relevant...SOURCE: and it connects as stated at point no.7 with the path through Croatian Zagorje...SOURCE:. I assume the older hikers were thinking about this connection.

Today (23.11.2014.) a quick ascent to that beauty. Start from Sveti Jurij, past homesteads and St. Donatus chapel on the old southern path to the top. Book entry and quick descent. This time via Frolich past Rudi, through the village and then road back to the vehicle. Annoying fog spoiled the experience a bit, but after some 600 meters it was gone.
Buddies Cviko and Jež were with me.
Parking lot in Sveti Jurij, at the start nasty fog...1
Ascent on undergrowth meadows2
In the forest some little men help us3
At the entrance to the more demanding part the sun finally broke the fog4
White circles on trees help us5
This sign also helps us6
We reach the most demanding part7
In this part we help ourselves with hands too8
Cviko is over it., Jež is slightly lagging... view back to the most demanding part9
No respite, we go on10
The path brings us in numerous turns to the southwest slope a little below the summit11
Below us is a sea of clouds12
Plešivec and Boč from the top. Like two islands in a strong sea of clouds13
Interesting rock on Frolichova path14
By the hut again fog...15

25.11.2014 to Rudi by car, then to the summit of Donačka, back to Rudi and traverse to the hut - Boč, summit and descent to Poljčane. All day moderately foggy, no visitors to hills-mountains, temperature suitable for the season, in short interesting hike, up-down then up and down. Some photos at http://www.pdmaticams-drustvo.si/
Play of mist with wind and frost.1
For the end of November they are quite well developed.2

Today, for the first time since I've been hiking to Donačka gora, I didn't reach the summitmrk pogled namely turned back zavijanje z očmiapproximately 100 elevation meters below the eastern summit of Donačka gora due to falling ice and breaking branches from weight of ice and snow and higher temperatures. Below the path is muddy and slippery and below Rudi hut toward Kupčin summit two beeches fell blocking the pathjezen. So caution won't hurtcool.
