Well, if Donačka isn't a challenge, to spice it up. To the starting point at Rudi's hut I came by bike (80 km), then barefoot up the climbing route to the top, on descent via normal route, shoes rubbed son's feet too so he took them off and enjoyed. Also kids enjoyed climbing (2x this week), very suitable for families. L.P.

Today (27.07.) a quick ascent to the beauty. We left the vehicle at Vrhe pass (cool) and then up the Old southern path. Entry in book and to eastern summit then down the wire. At Rudi some refreshments and back home.
Since there was no rain for a while paths are quite gravelly and slippery, caution needed. Friend Cviko was with me and it was his first ascent to Donačka. He was thrilled.

Hello fans of Donačka hill!
21.9.2013 we organize gathering on Donačka hill -
6 hours preparation on Donačka.
Start at 9am at Rudi's hut, descend to St. Donatus church, continue on roman road via Krc to footpath junction and then via cables to 3rd summit, entry at 2nd summit and zigzag path back to Rudi's hut where we sign again. Tour ends at 15h at Rudi's hut. We move on marked paths and protect nature.

Yes bravo guys, nice that you made the effort for a new flag.
But I have the feeling that you always hang it wrong.
In the rules for hanging the Slovenian flag it says " in case we decide for vertical hanging the colors must follow from left, red blue white with coat of arms on top".
Well it's not that far to the top, no hard feelings and best regards from Slovenske gorice.

There are rules about hanging flags; according to heraldry, only horizontal hanging is permitted, vertical only conditionally. The ratio of the sides of the flag must always be 1:2.
This one is already made so that white is by the pole; it could also be red.

Bravo, Beekeeper, that's how it is in Slovenia, you gotta bash the one who does something . You just keep diligently fixing the flag, 'cause better a bit against the rules than a torn flag .

I don't know about this case, my experiences are that those who "stumble" over proper flag hanging are those who never hung the holy Slovenian tricolor themselves. Thanks Stankoju and mates.

Tomorrow traditional hike to Donačka, last year we went to the top twice, maybe tomorrow too, just weather questionable

Despite bad weather we set off from home, had to put on raincoats, the hut almost empty.
@ panda I always go this way, even in winter and then you really have to watch out.
