Donačka gora

Today with Marjan we broke trail over chains from Kupčinj vrh, we were first on this route since snow fell. We descended towards the hut and on to Kupčinj vrh, on this path already quite a few have walked because a nice track has been made, so just cheerfully to the top.

Tonight with Franci we did night hike to Donačka, went from Kupčinj vrh over chains to top, descent past hut which was closed, back to car. Partly old track still visible but when path turns right up footprints suddenly lost and repeated part of path because slightly off track. Snow to waist in places, over knees everywhere. Down we cut trail on marked path because only direct one made. Nice three-hour trailbreaking behind us, tomorrow bit easier for all going up.

This morning Donačka gora already thaws. Path nicely tracked from both sides, but from trees ice started falling so refreshment provided velik nasmeh

Again we miss each other, on Triglav we meet, on Donačka no ... nasmeh

But some spots before cables more dangerous where really careful step needed.

Today path after yesterday's rain jezen

and at the end also a little snowing was quite icy and small crampons useful cool

, goes also without them but with more caution velik nasmeh

Today on Culture Day to Donačka gora, where I haven't been for 2 years. Forgot that they have an annual traditional hike for Culture Day, so there was a huge crowd, but somehow bearable. Starting point: Prelaz Vrhe, snow in the lower part of the path is little, so gaiters not needed; towards the top it's good to have them because sometimes it sinks deeply, and small crampons came in handy as the path by the cables is quite steep and very demanding now. Otherwise no special features.

Yesterday afternoon up there, snow soft and sinks to knees, when path from Žetal joins old track buried with pure ice fallen from trees and feels like champagne cooling in ice cubes velik nasmeh

. Top foggy, descent further to Rudi hut from start like bobsled run, from middle onwards already nice on path.

Today for the first time to Donačka via my own route and that's direct approach from the north side of Donačka gora. Started in Kupčinji vrh, there turned left to the meadow, from meadow straight to the summit. In the lower part it sank quite a bit mrk pogled

, towards summit snow was firmer and crampons and ice axe came into play velik nasmeh

. Descent via normal path to Rudi's hut, on this path small crampons recommended nasmeh

Today I repeated once more the direct approach via north face of Donačka to the summit. Noticed also tracks of ski tourer who climbed up here to summit and skied back down same variant. Today conditions ideal no sinking, at summit sun and enjoyment.

On Donačka still real winter, 30-40 cm snow path trodden from both sides. Nice greeting.

Did anyone go to summit via cable?
What are conditions?

Miko14, yesterday I was on Donačka gora. Still some snow, but cable passable, no problem. I went old south path (no snow) and down Frohlich (some drifts).
Hut open.
