Today's afternoon walk to Donačka, start at St. George's church, of course via cables to the top and descent to the hut, managed in 1 hour and 30 minutes, then to the hairy ones and hairy girls, which don't bloom in full swing yet, and one more little flower I photographed, do you perhaps know it? LP.

We inform all who intend to visit the source of the Sotla river, (Rudi's hut path Sotla source) that on one part of the path (see picture) the directional sign is removed and a fallen tree where the mark was drawn. PD SLOGA-ROGATEC http://www.hribi.net/slika.asp?pot=43659

Today I went via ladder and stone slab to the top. Route: Medgore-cable-top-Rudi's hut. Weather stable and path dry. Cheers! Lajči

On Donačka nothing much new. Was at midnight on the top. On descent towards Rudi's hut I noticed that all shortcuts are newly equipped with "chicanes" from branches and wood. Hope there'll be some benefit from it. But I was thinking about the otherwise nicely renovated path and came to (admittedly non-expert) conclusion that such path arrangement usurps nature more than if we let nature arrange it itself. Hope I'm wrong and that the expert arguments of the authorities support such path maintenance. LP

The thought was ripening and today it ripened into barefoot walking from Rudi's hut to the top and back. Weather just right, path dry, here and there mud which was very welcome for hot soles. I tell you, it's not bad for the body. Greetings! Lajči

I'm wondering what "Donačka gora - Rigi" in the topic title means!? The addition after the dash - Rigi.

Today we fixed our beauty a bit and repaired the path to the top for some sturdy meters. Weather was wonderful, so after work I went past St. Donatus to Žetale. Nice greetings! Lajči

This morning I did a walk to the top and then to the hut for a coffee. Path dry, towards the top rock fall, so lots of stones on the path, but no big problem. Nice greetings! Lajči

Today up there, windy weather that lifts your hat, the path grips nicely, so pleasant walking through the forest. Don't forget, no complaints at all about the walnut-apple pogača in the hut. Nice greeting! Lajči

I was yesterday on Donačka gora after a long time and was pleasantly surprised by the new arranged path, hope there will now be as few shortcuts as possible that would destroy the path and nature. lp

Today on the mountain in a beautiful morning. Up there the sun, down below a sea of clouds. As it looks, shortcuts are actual again!! Nice greetings! Lajči

Yesterday visited the mountain, which was wrapped in fog, path still quite dry, shortcuts increasingly actual, cold as a dog, but in the hut it was heated and pleasantly warm with goulash and beer. Nice greetings! Lajči

All you Styrians are really ridiculous. So far I've visited Donačka gora three times and on each visit I was quite negatively surprised: while admiring the mighty sharp pyramidal mass rising behind Rogatec and primeval forest or rock and plant formations, I was also appalled that human carelessness knows no bounds. Where people hide waste they can't carry - damn small bags or bottles etc.!?! - and stuff it into decaying stump or under rotting tree. But in primeval forest!?! Shortcuts? Below summit obvious erosion signs and same from shortcuts. Then don't know what you'll call primeval forest. So I say you are ridiculous. Small hill with many sights (protected landscape park), you treat it so stepmotherly. You'll degrade it completely...

No way, Styrians are just northern Balkaners. It was already seen when they came to Carniola to work... catastrophe

You are a southern Balkaner.. Who is to blame for you?

Are you a Styrian that you're offended? Truth hurts, right? Anyway no worries, I'm a Carinthian, and half German

I don't have such an opinion about Styrians. A person is a person. Otherwise "Balkaners" (with capital B) you meet everywhere, but here it's unnecessary to discuss it. I wanted just to express regret that a person doesn't realize what he has until he has it. Primeval forests are extremely rare here. And this one on Donačka gora is by area among smaller, in European scale among minor. Precisely because of that it's even more sensitive ecosystem needing even more care. If it were with our southeast neighbors Croats it would be undoubtedly better protected (by the way about "Balkaners": they have 8 national parks and around 15 landscape parks arranged so they can be example to us. Same with Montenegrins and Bulgarians).
