Golica

We haven't been to Golica for a long time, so we decided to go today. When we parked at Betel in the morning, the sky was still blue, so we knew, at least if the forecast holds, it wouldn't stay that way for long. We ascended the winter path. There is just a few cm of snow to the hut. On steeper parts, you need to be a bit careful, as that bit of snow on dry leaves slips away quite a bit. From the hut onwards, a "party"… nasmeh… wading through powder to the knees and over, here and there an old track was still visible, mostly all blown over. It churned and sank underfoot, a bit tiring at times, but the summit is not far anyway, plus a "speedy" overtook us a bit past halfway and suggested swapping places, we gladly let him go ahead mežikanje. But on the ridge there is much less snow, so it goes much easier. On the summit moderate wind, the sun managed to peek through the clouds, so it wasn't too cold. Views were, as always, great, today a bit cloudy but still nice. When we returned to the hut, the sun had to finally surrender to the clouds, we went down the usual path to the valley. It was really nice nasmeh.

Nice tour. Looking at your photos, my thoughts flew to springtime and blooming daffodils.

I'll take the opportunity to wish you and your little family above all dear health, a full basket of luck and success. Happy holidays.

Reporting to everyone that there is huge snow all the way from the village to the Golica top. Yesterday two apparently turned back below the hut. We today trod to the hut and onto the ridge, and stopped at the point where the ridge turns a bit right, about 100 vertical meters short of the top. Drifts and cornices on the right and steepness on the left did their thing - it became too dangerous for our taste. The increasingly warm weather contributed to that decision, so we wanted to descend back to the hut as soon as possible. I think the decision was right, as our track just below the hut was already covered by a small, about 3m wide avalanche. We didn't conquer the summit, but we did trample the snow, and with such nice nature and weather the heart danced too. There is really a lot of snow on Golica (for this winter), apparently the most in the Karavanke.

Golica. We watched it for four days from the peaks above Pokljuka and so decided to climb it on Sunday. Several years have passed since the last visit. Ignoring the weather, we drove from Gorica over Vršič to Jesenice and up to Planine pod Golico. The valley had some sun but the view upwards was ugly. Wind chasing fog across the slope. No matter. We bit into the hill right from the start. Wind all the way. Short stop at the hut under Golica, then again into the steep grassy slope, wet, slippery and muddy in places, no snow on the path. From hut to summit strong SW wind, foggy, visibility 50 m. Summit: quick logbook entry, photo, down to the start.

I was also on Golica today. I leave the car at Križovec and go over the ridge to the top. Quite a few people today on Golica and below at the hut. I return via the lower path towards Sedlo Suha and on to Križovec.

Majdag you were diligent today, already so early on the top. As I see you had good companymežikanje
And nice greetings to all.

Wait for the narcissi, in 1 month they should be. But currently there's still snow up there. But temperatures over 25°C are coming, so snow will disappear quickly.

For Katty: tomorrow some snow, mud, wetness, day after tomorrow—probably a bit better. Still, you can go maybe tomorrow, just be careful with mud.

...Plavški Rovt, Planina pod Golico.. Not much daffodils, I went in the morning for a look. In Planina pod Golico you see some in the grass, in Plavški Rovti some patches of daffodils can be found. A local said they will be in a week, if the weather stays like this.
But nice in these Rovti, čavmežikanje

When the daffodils bloom, I like to go admire them at Plavški Rovt the most. The path through the meadows is pleasant and slowly climbs the slope. Walk suitable also for a somewhat older step. It was nice.
