My son and I both recently got Alpina Anapurna boots in a sale, and equipped them with Climbing Technology automatic crampons. We tested it on the ascent to Storžič. Regarding the boots I'd say they're only suitable for winter ascents, as they're too stiff and heavy for dry ground. On the first hike they also slightly blistered the top of my toes, but I hope they'll break in over time. We adjusted the crampons at home to the boot length, so no issues with fitting on the ascent. On the boot at least these crampons fit excellently both front and heel, as despite intentionally rougher walking, sometimes even on dry rocks with possible removal we had no problems. Can't say more for now, time will tell if this relatively cheap combo holds up.

These are really just three-season hiking boots. If these fit you right, then the modern boot will serve its purpose, but for a little shorter time than boots from before ~2000.

They fit me like a glove, but the color doesn't suit me, so I probably won't decide to buy them. Oh, if they were in blue, I wouldn't even think for a second.

Hi, does anyone know where the nearest shops in Italy or Austria are where it would be possible to try on Garmont boots? The selection in Slovenia seems quite poor to me... Thanks for the answer and best regards.

Prices of Planika boots... http://www.vsezasport.si/sporti-na-prostem/pohodnistvo/pohodna-obutev/ it seems to me that the prices are the same everywhere if there are no special deals As for Alpina CROMO, I can tell about the low CROMO LOW, I use them as everyday shoes (work and private), I'm very satisfied, but for various hikes or hills they don't suit me because they have too much space for toes in the front part, consequently toes move too much and rub (blisters). best regards Martin from Dolenjska

Maybe someone uses shoes of the Italian brand Fitwell? What are the experiences?

Aha, thanks for the answer That's exactly why, because they are supposed to be softer and more comfortable even for those with slightly wider feet, they caught my eye... Which Salewe and Meindl models are you wearing now?

Hello, I need a bit of help regarding my Alpina Tibet boots, otherwise excellent boots that have served me for 3 years in the summer season. In winter there's a problem because due to warm foot and cold snow, condensation builds up in the boot or sweat, I have really wet feet. Is it the boot waterproofing coating that makes the leather waterproof or is this boot unusable for winter conditions due to too thin insulation in the boot. Thanks for answers and your experiences with this problem. Regards Bojan

I think it's not sweat, but simply leaking a bit of water, maybe at the front rubber, some small hole...
