Thanks nasmeh Yes, almost exactly 1 year ago got touring gear, last winter wasn't exactly the best to use it much. But I'm not a beginner when it comes to skiing itself velik nasmeh
It's not that narrow...if conditions are good...cool

Yesterday the time came to retake my Jalovec makeup exam.
Already in the morning the prospects weren't the best, as at 6:40am, before leaving the car in Planica, a strange figure -16 lights up.mrk pogled Already in the car I gear up like for Siberia, five onion layers, two pairs of gloves, best hat, mask, 'long johns' I already had on from home. Just before start two young guys park next to me, heading to climb the Central icefall. I cross the mirrored icy road without slipping, don't stop at the hut, from there take the left path towards the icefalls mentioned earlier, which are truly magnificent. From there I hoped for some trodden connection to the path to Jalovec, but had to make it myself in full blizzardvelik nasmeh. No big deal, those half hour went wrong, but the day is quite long. Luckily higher up I hit a ski track and advance high up on it, didn't break through once. Higher it unfortunately disappears, hard in some places, otherwise wind-packed snow, tough to ascend. Below the couloir I switch on the skins, which rattle evenly all the way to the exit. On the saddle I meet the only visitor of the day, already returning from the summit. He mentioned fog on top, well, I avoided it thanks to relatively late start and detour to the icefallsnasmeh
From here on poetry, fog retreats, path visible everywhere and nicely trodden all the way to the top, where unfortunately it was quite windy. At the summit I stay only good ten minutes, because I was afraid for my fingers, don't even open the thermos, let alone bite into the sandwich. All the time northwest wind was blowing, so on the way back along the ridge, where the path veers a bit off it, I stopped in sunny calm. Luckily the sun wasn't that strong to melt the snow and send rock and ice projectiles into the couloir, as I have a vivid experience from many years ago.
At least half the couloir I descend backwards, my spine still reminds me today. In Tamar I first test what sandwich I made, interesting were the visitors with a baby strollerzmeden At the parking lot I get rid of four euros, also stop at Dani's, where with tea (1.60€) and sandwich I cheer for our eagles.
The festive lights have not yet gone out.1
Since I'm the curious type, ...2
... I was drawn to view the Central icefall.3
The sun is already in view, but the sight of the mists diminishes my motivation.4
From the saddle above the glacier, I spot a guy already returning from the summit.5

No problem, guys! As long as hiking uphill is a pleasure for me, I'll be a regular guest in our mountains and peaks.

At one o'clock from Planica to Tamar, then through Ozebnik to the top. There is just enough snow to cover the jumps and obstacles. The traverse above Ozebnik still has a little snow, elsewhere it is bare. Return to the valley in the opposite direction. Faster descent was enabled by gojzar skiing on the scree, which is still partially under snow.

Does anyone know, is there maybe still some snow patch on the path over Kotovo sedlo and down over Špičko?

Up and down I went from Vršič past Špička, the shelter is still closed. Luckily I knew that and carried 5l of liquid with me, which I used all up (washed clothes). The protections are in good condition, no snow on the path. The logbook is not full, but it's in poor condition. The metal casing where the logbook is stored doesn't hold to the base, it's just leaning against the rock.

In the morning I was the only one at the top and probably also the only one in Slovenia in long pants and down jacket. That changed quickly ...

Since we admired Jalovec last week from bivouac A. Busettini, we saw a good weather forecast yesterday, because we also know that we won't be fast, since with a child everything goes slowernasmeh. For the route we chose the starting point in Zadnja Trenta, ascending via Jalovška škrbina, and returned via Špička. The path via the saddle is a bit less well marked, with no signposts at certain junctions and faded markings. Fixed protections, as many as there are, are in good conditionnasmeh. For the route with all stops we needed 12 hours.

Jalovec on Saturday 15. 08. 2026. Maja S you chose a beautiful path. Unknown to me until yesterday. I decided to go see what it looks like. Started walking at fifteen to seven. Leisurely, without any rushing. At the hunting lodge I turned into the steep slope. Don't know if there was already a sign for Mali Kot before? Anyway the path is marked. Nice to me, especially walking among boulders. I didn't know what awaits me further upon entering the wall. Quite an airy climbing route where pitons help. Just the right number of them. I put a helmet on my head in case something falls from above. The path over the scree is fine. Some foreign hikers were just descending there. For further on the path to the summit is well known to me. Nice weather attracted quite a few hikers. I was at the top at 12 o'clock and ten minutes. I had more than enough time. Descent via the path past the shelter under Špička into the valley. To the starting point which was full in the morning. Now half empty. Still a stop by the Soča on the way home when you swim in the cold water.

Darinka, bravo for the successful tournasmeh. We descended to the hunting lodge and went left there, not more to the right towards the hut. There it's poorly marked and easy to miss. We chose this path after careful considerationnasmeh

Thanks to Maja.smile I've walked there in the forest so many times that the path is well known to me. I think it's still better marked than before. I'm satisfied with the new path. In the Goličica wall it wasn't clear to me that there are only pitons. But that's how they decided. Your post helped me to go on this path.

I'm glad that my post helpednasmeh. I knew that Goličica is protected only with pitons, but I knew that it wouldn't cause problems for Peter, since he's used to such routes, and there are enough pitons. However, I don't like to go with him on routes that we don't already know from before. Still, this route seemed more suitable to me than the one from Kotovo saddlenasmeh

We were also on Jalovec on Saturday. About an hour before Darinka. Up via Kotovo saddle and down via Jalovska notch. One girl slightly overestimated her abilities and had quite some trouble on the descent, especially in the last wall before the scree, but with the help of a companion she also made it. Opinions were varied. At the top I suggested we take the bus from Trenta to Vršič and via Slemenova špica to Tamar, the others were a bit sorry that we didn't choose that variant.
