I'm also interested in the conditions for Jalovec. I'd like to do a circular tour from Trenta to Kotovo sedlo to the Jalovec summit, then descent to the hut under Špička.

Hi. If the info helps, on 1.7., on the route Tamar-Kotovo sedlo - summit there was still a snowfield in the gully between little and big Jalovec, and then another snowfield towards Špička, at the junction to Goličica. Crossing both was very demanding then.

Hello, looking for a hiker / female hiker for around Loška Koritnica - Kotovo sedlo - Jalovec - Škrbina za gradom - Loška Koritnica. I want to do the hike in one day. Hi, sorry for the incorrect Slovenian. I'm looking for a hiking buddy for the above mentioned trail. Already hiking in Julian Alps during vacation every year from 2013, so I am aware of what to expect. Thanks a lot for reaching out via message! :-)

If I may give you a recommendation, I think it is somewhat better to do the tour in the opposite direction. The climb from Špička to Škrbina za gradom is not something that one wishes to do and the descent that follows requires a lot of attention almost until the end.

The most beautiful prince of the Julians nicely welcomed our little prince at the end of the Slovenian Mountain Trail. jezik

On Tuesday after a long drive, the ascent from Zadnja Trenta to the Hut under Špica followed, where we overnighted. The warden strives in modest conditions without electricity and currently without water to care for everyone. Friendly puppy Roxy keeps him company along with wild animals; he has the most work with snakes. eek

Yesterday in a beautiful morning we continued to the summit, where we alone enjoyed the views. nasmeh

The whole path from the starting point to the summit is well marked and normally passable.
After crossing Vršič, we ended the hot summer day with a refreshment in Jasna. mežikanje

Start from Planica just before dawn. First snow patches start on scree, trodden only past bivouac to Kotovo sedlo. My route continued through Ozebnik, which has changed a lot. Here powder snow all the way to the top. After a stop at the summit, back to the valley over Kotovo sedlo. First two hundred meters of height under snow nicely hide ice on rocks, which can ease a fast descent to the valley with a one-way ticket. Also today no one, just whistle of wind and sun rays.

After Saturday's "probing conditions" Sunday first "royal tour" this year velik nasmeh

Conditions not the easiest, little snow, consequently lots of scratching with crampons on rock. Make it a bit harder myself... in touring boots of course feel on such terrain not quite the same as in gojzars... zadrega

In Ozebnik conditions for skiing super (except very top part), below Ozebnik a bit less super, but still ok. If only there was a bit more snow...
