LG, we go to the mountains so that you plan the tour well at home with the current conditions in the mountains, gear included. You adjust the tour to the conditions in the mountains and execute it most smartly with the terrain and features of the mountain sky direction at that time safely and interestingly. Mountains aren't meant for just rushing after conquered peaks, but rather they encompass a deeper spectrum of feelings of nature and self that you connect with in that harmony, aware that you're just a temporary guest there, sometimes stopping somewhere. Drop your speed ego and with different, harmonic senses climb some rock quite differently, much easier and more elegantly. All this reveals that mountains always teach a person if he allows learning from them and nothing goes by force here. No matter how steep and hard the mountain is, you approach it most easily by listening to it (sometimes stop and mentally empty yourself to absorb its messages). Someone living with mountains can even gauge the avalanche level by the smell of snow etc. Let a person hike in mountains to balance him, awaken his senses and not chase and tire him. Such things we can do in the gym, no need for the mountain world. Still, congrats on the done trip hoping you took to the valley also something else besides just the summit.

Thanks, viharnik, you wrote this nicely. Bedtime reading . I believe LG took to the valley or brought back also something else. Good night and nice Sunday, I'll spend it in the Vipava area.

Weather forecasts weren't the best but not the worst either, so we opted for the ascent to this beautiful mighty mountain from the Italian side. To Jezersko saddle the path climbs the forested Mirnik valley, occasionally a bit muddy and slippery. From the saddle onwards the path is more interesting and the landscape diverse. We met a group of the Italian alpine club from San Vito with the same goal. In nice weather the view is first-rate, this time we were occasionally in fog so we'll have to return. There are several paths to the saddle, so there is a choice. It was windy and chilly at the summit. Worth a visit!!!

From Možnica it is well marked and easy to follow. At the point where the path also joins from the Italian side, shorter snowfields start, which are no trouble to cross or can be avoided. For crossing one snowfield I used an ice axe.

Nice summer day lured us to a wonderful viewpoint above Rabeljsko Lake. Mountains on the palm where the eye reaches. To the Jezersko saddle where the paths meet it is a bit slippery from Beli Vodi, also steepness and high vegetation. Worth every step

Yesterday, 5.12., we went from Možnica to Jerebica. To Jezersko saddle the path is snow-free, further on the north side the path is partly under snow. The day was wonderful

From Možnica under the cables the path is covered with leaves and stones, cleared as much as possible, higher just before the exit from the forest some fallen trees, as a result of rocks rolling from the rockfall in the east wall of Veliki Snežnik peak. Below the fall the path is partly covered and scattered. From Jezersko saddle onward mostly under snow. We went via lower snow passages. Descent as expected deep under snow, I dug a bit with ice axe, but since it fogged up, we ended at the top of Gorenji Krivi rob. Carefully, as further falls are not excluded, snow will melt in about 14 days, depending on the weather. Snow also on the Italian side of Jezersko saddle.

The day didn't start the best today as I planned to go to Jerebica from the Italian side. After a few minutes of walking a too deep stream stopped me, which I couldn't cross at all. Since one stream won't ruin my day I go back to the car and jump to the Slovenian side to Možnica valley. From here the path is a bit longer as the signpost shows 5 hours. The path initially is not too strenuous as it ascends gradually. After less than an hour I reach the first cables and soon nettles and high grass. In between a viper lived which scared me and probably I scared it. From Jezersko saddle the path is overgrown some time longer then the better part with views all around to the top of Jerebica. On return I jump to the top of Krivi rob from where it almost blew me away.

Rapid. Good that the detour is not too long. Years ago I didn't think of an alternative at all, but explored a bit along the bed of the swollen stream (don't remember if left or right) and soon found a thick fallen tree that served as a bridge. For interest, when returning, there was no stream anymore, just a few puddles.

I also explored left and right but there was no rescue plant as the stream was quite deep. Considering it was my first approach to Jerebica and according to the map the detour to the Slovenian side really was not far (some 20 min), I was still quite quick back at the car.

Hello hill lovers, last year after many years I reactivated and realized I missed sooooo many beautiful experiences, views, encounters..... So, last year I headed to Julijce - Komna-Sedmera-Veliko and little Špičje, Prehodavci and back to Bohinj. In autumn I also jumped to Triglav. For end of August I plan a three to four day ramble through Trenta to Posočje and circular back. I enjoy hills even if I go alone, but it's still nicer in good company. Yes, this is an invitation to join, it could be really nice.
