Great, keeping fingers crossed that the plan comes true.

Reminds of nicely arranged huts abroad....

I heartily hope the project is realized and doors of renovated hut open as soon as possible for the benefit of hikers who use or need it.
Somehow I don't understand why lose this year, if I'm not mistaken last year they boasted how they closed all agreements on land, building permits and resolved all necessary documentation...zadrega
Does all bureaucracy really take years and years here....funds somehow get lost in between...jezen

Eastern facade reminds of the old hut after renovation in 2011. That flat roof seems to me from technical point of view quite questionable.

What is the difference in floor plan size between old and new?

Current project value estimate?

Pity that due to location it will stand empty quite a lot.

Winter room will there be? Question is serious.

Is there any photo of the containers?

The bigger question is who or where the money will be gotten. Not good to jump for joy too soon

Answers to »mpp« questions

The hut is in the design/development phase. A conceptual design is shown, which can change in some parts. The conceptual display does not show technical solutions and at least in the flat roof area certainly does not show the final execution.

I don't have exact data on the floor plan size of the old hut. From what I read from the available documentation, the net floor area was around 330m2. The new hut has 508m2 in the presented design. The number of beds remains 80. The floor area increase is mainly due to a larger dining room (80 chairs), kitchen, accompanying storerooms and technical rooms.

Current project value estimate is 800,000 €. The price does not include logistics and helicopter transports.

Regarding the winter room. In the conceptual design phase we placed it in the hut at least four times and deleted it just as many. The last decision is that the winter room will be separate outside the hut. After completion of construction, we are considering converting a container or two already on location into a winter room. Let me add that the facility is being designed for operation every day of the year. The location itself is excellent for activities throughout the year. But it's up to us high-mountain visitors to show interest.

I attached a photo of the situation on Korošica from 14 days ago (31 March). Containers are in approximate locations. They still need to be placed on the already prepared point foundations. A wooden roof will be erected over all three under which one can sit in the shade or sheltered from rain.

T-SHIRTS – FUNDRAISING FOR KOCBEK HUT ON KOROŠICA
After the known disaster 20.10.2017 when our Kocbek hut on Korošica burned to the ground, we in the association decided to rebuild the hut.
The main architect of the hut will of course be money.
One form of fundraising is also the sale of souvenir t-shirts available at the association, Frischauf hut on Okrešelj, Orlov gnezdo and PZS.
T-shirt price is 15 €.

We also collect voluntary contributions to account 051 0080 1595 8723.

Also possible is donating via SMS messages

Send SMS message with keyword KOROSICA5 to number 1919 and you will contribute 5 EUR for the construction of the new mountain hut on Korošica which burned in October 2017.
Users of mobile services of Telekom Slovenije, Izimobil, A1, T-2 and Telemach can contribute.

Last year quite some donated funds were collected and I will use the opportunity to thank on behalf of the association for all donations.

The Slovenian Mountain Trail stamp is located in Eagle's Nest at Rinka Waterfall.

The stamp was brought there by Mojca, who previously took care of the Hut at Korošica. But the stamp is the only thing she managed to save...

Regarding the containers. It was said that there would be something to eat and drink and also to sleep over.
Maybe someone knows how it is with that? zmeden

Hello, I was on Korošica on June 4 and due to wrong information had too little (!) water. There was none. Later I learned that drinking water is in Inkret gully spring. I didn't know then and don't know the situation. The lesson again - take enough water with you! Good luck

The Inkret spring doesn't always have water either.
But I still got it at Molička planina (tap above the trough) near the shelter.
