It's true that most high mountain huts aren't "beautiful". A good example is also the Dom on Kamniško sedlo compared to the former hut. Specific weather conditions require construction approaches considering the compromise between material choice and funds.

I understand. Material delivery is also a big factor.

I think it's clear to everyone that money is involved, which PD Matica Celje doesn't have in abundance at all and implemented the sheet metal cladding so annual problems wouldn't repeat. Maybe now is a chance for something else, but the site's location is extremely challenging given the snowfall in the area.

Maybe there's also an option to allocate part of the income tax at the end of the year specifically for this purpose, so probably designate PD Matica Celje as the recipient? I know this option already exists for PZS. This way with the right "marketing" campaign the number of people willing to help in this way would greatly increase (since actually nothing would need to be given from one's own pocket)...

SamoK, we all know that there are criteria on the basis of which entities are placed on the list of beneficiaries. Beneficiaries change and of course must meet the conditions prescribed by the Income Tax Act on December 31 of the previous year. For example, associations are placed on the list based on the criterion of financing public-interest purposes, so it is not self-evident that every association is a beneficiary.
Otherwise, this is a deviation from the main point of the posts and it makes no sense to discuss further. I think it is important that we are informed that PD Celje Matica is one of those associations entitled to a portion of income tax.

I do intend to contribute part of my income tax... so far I've allocated it to "local firefighters" but still I'm interested how much a person who can't distinguish petroleum from water will contribute!? Regardless of citizenship....

But for the homeliness of the mountain hut, the staff takes care of it, its appearance is a reflection of some period. If we just look at e.g. the Czech hut or the neighboring Kranjska hut, then the first definitely has more mountaineering "charm", which however does not guarantee homeliness.
