Can someone tell me how long it takes to hike from Velika Planina to Korošica?

Today I headed out on the path to Korošica from Podvolovljek and that via the forest road, where the starting point is named Za Loncem. The path was being cleared just as I passed by, so I only drove about a kilometer on it. I left the car by the road and walked to the starting point. In Podvolovljek it says 4 hours and a half from there, from the starting point Za Loncem you have to walk three and a half hours. The path goes through the forest for a while. Then the steepness starts, which doesn't let up until Stara Stala, where winter begins. In between there's plenty of water - water flows over the rocks and makes small waterfalls. Before that nice grassy meadow with a drying lake - Stara Stala snow starts. There's a lot of it. It is completely south-facing, but doesn't break through. There was no track, so I just bypassed that nice little meadow, which is half-surrounded like in some amphitheater by rocky-grassy smaller peaks. Something special is the small waterfall that somehow flows straight from the snow over rocks into a small pool and all the water somehow disappears on the plain under the snow. I must say, there's a lot of falling water. But water after a few meters is nowhere. This is supposed to be the water of the stream that lies the highest in our Alps. Since there was no track further anywhere I decided to turn back better. Need to do this path to the hut on Korošica in dry conditions.
On Podvolovljek, first on asphalt, then on macadam.1
The vehicle waited at the end of the road roughly halfway to the starting point due to fallen trees.2
The road was already cleared on the way back.3
On the way I see this signpost. I don't know what it's for.4
This is the starting point Za Loncem.5
This is how the path runs through the forest.6
We pass numerous springs that overflow over rocks and form small waterfalls.7
We arrive at some kind of plain at the top of the slope and here winter begins.8
From the plain we spot below the Stara stalo-ravnica with its drying-up lake.9
The plain is enclosed in a half-amphitheatre of nearby scree peaks.10

12
Right in the middle I spot something unusual, from the snow above gushes a veritable waterfall in two steps that lands below in a pool.13
14
15
From the plain above Velika planina is visible - unfortunately in the fog.16
Wulfenia jegliči - a bit wet.17
Here too I find avriklje in the rocks.18
I find the first tiniest alpine snowbells.19

Brane, nicely, we used to call this path Čez Šibje. The alpine pasture is called Stare Stale, without a roof and the valley from where you turned towards the gorge is Podvolovljek.
Best regards!smile

Otiv, please explain if you know what that sign "Lonec 5 min." means, for which Velkavrh wrote that he doesn't know what it's about! (photo no. 4)

Thanks & safe steps!

Of course, it's a larger pool on the stream Lučka Bela. The pool looks like a "pot".
Nice greeting!
Unfortunately, I don't have pictures.
And in this valley I also found planike.

Thanks for the explanations! One needs to explore everything well.

dprapr, many thanks! You made my day when I read the post of the sadly prematurely deceased Edi Mavrič. He nicely described this corner of Lučka Bela. Now I know everything. Just waiting for summer to repeat this route.

Years have passed,
time goes among memories.
Life offers little sweetness.
No pious thought flashes through the brains:
will anything useful remain behind me.
On the path thorny without goal,
I myself don't know.
Little of the roots of promises has sprouted.
My trace a song leaves,
wherever I go. Edi Mavrič(1961-2008)

I knew Edi personally, I even promised to take him through Srnjakove Kotle, in neoprene and with abseils over waterfalls, but sadly
he left too soon....mrk pogled
Some curiosities I drew from his
book Between legend and truth, where he describes
people and life in Gornjegrajski konec,
some he described to me himself, so I know those "wilds" behind the corner quite well!
And I'm glad for so many connection points I find with you, Vito, Brane, Drago etcnasmehnasmeh

Time flees from us too fast,
to see everything in the world,
so don't let the day pass unnoticed,
even if we write something, it's a nice gift.

Hello! Does anyone know what the conditions are like on the path to Kocbek Hut via Robanov kot?

I'm interested if there is snow where the cables and pegs are?

Or do you recommend another trail?

Thanks and best regards from Croatia smile

There is definitely snow, because it's the shady side. How much is the question, I'm interested too.

redbull and Swen11

I know this path very well and think there's still a lot of snow. Path not suitable yet.

Hello
If you look at JTrogar's photos (post - Račka vrata) where you see Kopinškovo on Ojstrica, there's still plenty of snow. The path from Robanov kot is even more shaded and you can expect snow. From my experience when I climbed here in spring, take ice axe and crampons. Upper part usually quite difficult and without it I wouldn't tackle this path in current conditions.
Approach from Planina Podvežak is much less dangerous if you have no proper gear or experience.
