...I think, when I set off from home, the goal of return I always carry in my heart, so I call that "goal" differently and it warms me... ...from departure to arrival home are moments that color and enrich my life, and perhaps to some I can also say GOAL... Nature and mountain lovers, safe steps to all, Minca

Today I ran from Savica to Komna. Snow is ideal for running, just a bit refrozen so sneakers grip well and you can run super. On Komna itself there was strong wind. I put on two fleeces and extra running tights and already rushed towards Bogatinska vrata. The track is still super. Just the wind was even stronger. But watch out, right off the track the snow sinks deeply. From the saddle I headed right towards Lanževica. Halfway I turned back because of fog and wind. Descent to the valley was pure pleasure due to the excellent snow. Actually I just relaxed my legs without worry for ankles and raced down the valley - that was adrenaline!

I was also on Komna on Saturday, the day was wonderful, snow quite OK for walking, just a bit windy on top.

I advise you to call directly the hut on Komna 040695783, 040620784 or the hut under Bogatin 040645865- both are open, that's best, you'll get the best info, and write what they say, lp

To Bogatinsko sedlo path by ski track in beautiful sunny weather unproblematic, upper - summer due to old avalanches and sinking snow unusable and without outlet. Strong wind at Bogatinsko sedlo. Path back from Komna icy from frost, esp. shady part.

Me too, I'm planning a trip to Komna on Friday this week, and it would be great if I knew how much snow there is on the path. The path is no problem for me, as it's not steep nor sheer, and it's usually groomed even in winter.

Some patches new snow only above 1600m and gone in a day or so, no panic.

Last week I went hunting for autumn colors to Komna, where I overnighted and the second day continued to Bogatin and Mahavšček. During the two-day rambling I enjoyed wonderful weather conditions at Bled, Bohinj and in the upper floors of Slovenia. I published the resulting photos on my website: Bled, Bohinj, Komna, Bogatin Mahavšček - jesenski foto potep., one from the night session I attach here too.

@joste, you really are a master of photography. Beauty for eyes and soul. Although I know masterpieces aren't created by the camera but by the master using it, still satisfy my curiosity and tell me which one you photograph with? I'm trying with my Canon SX30IS, but it won't see these vivid colors like I do.

First thanks for the praises, makes me very happy! @Irina: Photos are taken with Canon 5d mk2 camera. As for colors though sadly no digital camera reproduces exactly the colors you see in front of you, it always errs a bit and usually captures too broad a color spectrum regardless that so many colors aren't even available in current conditions, which makes photos look somewhat washed out and less vibrant... that error then needs fixing in post-processing, where each photo is its own project and for each you need to think how to get to approximately natural vivid colors. Sometimes the process can carry you away and you over-boost colors so they lose naturalness, so quite some experience and especially lots of work is needed. Factors affecting colors are of course huge. Once again thanks, wish you lots more vivid colors!
