Domch - congrats on the walked path...

If you want to do the route reliably you have to go down to Male Pode and then up the marked path, all who were there then chose this variant. But you can also go the paths you mention but no path and it's crumbly. Kranjska Rinka and Skuta are also connected by a ridge but accessible only to alpinists with gear. From Koroška Rinka to Štajerska is close and Mala Rinka too. I decided rather for Turska Gora and Kotliče than also Kranjska Rinka in this case.

Domch, to get from Koroška Rinka to Kranjska Rinka you definitely don't descend to Male pode, but go nicely along the marked path between them (the map also shows this path nicely: http://www.hribi.net/zemljevid_poti.asp?id=50 LP, Janez

I'm planning a tour: Ravenska Kočna, Češka koča, Skuta, Rinka, Kranjska koča, Ravenska Kočna. How much time do I need? Is it maybe better to go in the other direction? Thanks!

Say ~10h, if you go over Dolgega hrbta and from Skuta over Malih podov to Križ (if you skip Dolgi hrbet and Male pode ~1h less), +-3h depending on your fitness. Best, Janez

ms primoz - thanks for the congrats. You were even bigger pros when you also descended down there, it's true that from Logarske plezarije it's a bit more, because you first have to climb to Križ and descend to the Gorenjska side. That section is quite adrenaline on certain parts too. Kranjsko rinko I'll visit another time when I'm heading to Skuta or something similar again. JTrogar thanks for the map. When I was descending along the side through pathless from Mala rinke I stumbled upon another entrance to Turski žleb, which is no longer marked, it's located a bit higher than the marked exit from Turskega žleba. Does maybe someone know if this path is normally passable?

JTrogar, thanks for the answer. Do you maybe have an opinion on the direction? Where is easier for descent: from Skuta over Mlinarsko (I've been there once) or from Križ to Ledine? Best, Igor

MnnM, checked from Skuta under Dolgi hrbet over Mlinarsko sedlo! From Rinka towards Ledine personally seems tougher for going down to me, I preferred going up (walked both 14 days ago).

Say that Skuta is right in the middle of the planned path, descent over Križ has longer difficult sections with fixed protection than over Mlinarskega sedla, even if you go over Dolgi hrbet. Time-wise I think there's no difference. What's easier depends on you, since I don't know what kind of paths suit you better. But that's just my thinking. Best, Janez

On Saturday we're planning to Okrešelj, towards Mrzli dol, to Križ and other Rinke and descent through Turski žleb. Is there possibly still snow somewhere on the path and is extra caution needed because of it? Thanks for any info. Best

@hribinet There's no snow on the path that would cause problems... Probably there's still a little snow under Štajerska Rinka, at the place where you climb into Mrzli dol.

I also think that down to Mlinarsko is easier than from Križ towards Ledine or....respect for the path, concentration and caution is the same on both paths

Hello. Tomorrow we plan to go to Koroška Rinka from Okrešelj. Which descent do you recommend? Should we return via Turska gora-Kotliči-Kamniško sedlo-Okrešelj or plan B-Turski žleb? I already climbed the latter up and down last year, but for return I'd take it only as emergency exit. That scree is really exhausting. And yes, how much time do we need for the first and second option? Thanks a lot for the answer.

jvali, descent via Kotliči won't be much nicer than through Turski žleb either. The path is covered in nasty sliding gravel and twists like a labyrinth among fallen rocks, and drags on like a spring snake. Crossing screes on Brana's north side to Kamniško sedlo no longer has problems, same downhill to Okrešelj. Compared to Turski žleb, descent over Kotliči will be longer by at least a good hour, maybe two. Have a nice hike

After a long five years back to Koroška Rinka or Križ and Kranjska Rinka, which you reach by going a bit down the scree and then up to it - maybe from Križ just under half an hour one way. I was already there, thus the second week in a row at Ledine. This time via the Slovenian secured climbing route up and straight ahead to Jezersko sedlo. The morning was relatively cold, almost no day for short sleeves today. Then over Jezersko sedlo on a short scree past the known window, which provides a magical view to the other side into the climbing part of the tour. Nearby there is also a mini window. Then the secured climbing part begins, which is quite long. The cables are impeccable. You need to be careful not to dislodge debris, of which there is really a lot on the path. After about three hours we were at the summit. The summit was quite besieged today. Also on nearby Skuta a bunch of hikers was visible. Then descent over a bit awkward scree and also to Kranjska Rinka, which is more deserted. Then carefully back again towards Jezersko sedlo to Kranjska koča at Ledine, where at three in the afternoon a concert of interesting drums from Honduras started on the roof of the hut, if I understood correctly. They performed classical pieces. Very interesting and unusual music that we are not used to. There were many visitors - applause as well. The hut literally ran out of food - the wonderful late summer weather helped them handsomely. Back to Žrelo to Češka koča at Spodnje Ravne. Here at five in the afternoon there were only a handful of visitors. Really, the neighboring hut was a serious competitor today. To Kranjska koča at Ledine it is a bit harder to get. Via the Slovenian route and over Žrelo it is only for hikers experienced with cables. Easy up and down via the hunting path, which starts at the lower stations of the cargo cable car on the far left side - well marked. The path is exceptionally beautiful, not demanding at all and well equipped with wood - real praise to PD Kranj.

On picture no. 20 it's not Turska gora, but Mrzla gora.

I too was a couple of days ago again at Koroška Rinka - from Okrešelj towards Savinjsko sedlo and then to Križ. Where the same as last year happened to me - at the top mists engulfed us, which suddenly appeared there over Koče and turned into real fog. So then quickly only to Štajerska Rinka and through Turski žleb back towards Okrešelj, where the sun was shining cheerfully again... @velkavrh, yes - on picture no. 4 it's Storžek

BibaS, it's not quite clear to me where Štajerska Rinka is. To Koroška Rinka we climbed from Ledine up, then right to Kranjska Rinka, below Križ is Mala Rinka, where few bother to go - reportedly has a stamp and logbook. Attach some picture if you have them. I photographed everything around there. Probably I have it on pictures, just don't know which peak it is. If I didn't photograph it, my colleague did, who takes even nicer pictures than me.

Yes, as dprapr wrote - on your picture no. 13 is Štajerska Rinka. When descending from Križ towards Turski žleb, cross a few minutes to the left and there you are Mala is on that quite indistinct ridge down to Turski, yes... Like this at the top of Štajerska Rinka:
