Somewhere I saw that the path from old Ljubelj along the ridge to Košutica is closed. I wonder if it's true and why it's closed, thanks for answers.

If you mean via Grunt, I went there mid December 2015..the path in that section after the ladder was repaired or they installed cables on the part where the trail collapsed. So no panic...unless something new got destroyed.

Yesterday early start at Vranček - Planina Korošica - Hajnževo sedlo Košutica via eastern - hunting path. Path bp. Met only some chamois. Descent from Grunt pastures towards Ljubelj hut was quite muddy and wet, a bit acrobatic velik nasmeh

. Protections above the drop are new, as are all cables - excellently taken care of safety at the most dangerous spots.

Ljubelj hut - really muddy like from some cave hehe

How is the path from Ljubelj to the top of Košutica? Is everything OK now or still collapsed?

@navdušena ... on the entire circular path mentioned by @vukovivek there is nothing collapsed. However, I DO NOT recommend ascent or return via the Austrian variant (lojtra) from Ljubelj road. This path is very overgrown this time of year and currently slippery and muddy. In morning moisture gaiters come in handy, even better fishing boots velik nasmeh

. Hunting path on our side, crossing via Hajnež to Košutica and circular return back to hunting path is no problem.

June 2016 - overgrown Austrian path. Not recommended.

June 2016 - Often the path is hardly visible due to vegetation.

June 2016 - during descent from the ridge towards Ljubelj road there are quite a few slippery sections on the marked path.

@bagi is right, the path on Austrian side is wet and slippery in morning hours so we need to be a bit careful. Probably because more rain last days. I recommend the path described by bagi nasmeh

The path is repaired, I walked there mid-May. I am adding a couple of pics so you can see how it looks now mežikanje

From the iron ladder all the way to that part a cable is strung

The path is now tucked more to the right side

To the crags and around under them to easier terrain, all well secured

Previously the path went higher above the chasm

I don't quite understand - so the path from Ljubelj is not recommended (from the old border crossing) - as I read it's better to start a bit lower?

Anyway, the nicest is circular to Stari Ljubelj over Grunt to Košutica and descent to Korošica for žganci and further down to main road..... mežikanje

Even nicer from the top continue along the ridge then descend to Hajnževo sedlo. From there merrily to the valley...

I like to head to the mountain each time via another path, if possible include some unmarked approach. This time to Košutica first time along its eastern ridge, back to hunting path via western. The ridge surprised me with beautiful flowers, nice relaxing views, and also exposure of some sections where vertigo really not recommended. Swallows flying over the ridge too so path really exciting.
