Dear Mariborčan, a thousand thanks for such exhaustive information. First and last time I posted a question on the forum. I hoped for some useful answer but got a bunch of criticism!!

I think you couldn't get more useful answers. The only thing that could be different is they would be written with a different more friendly tone. But the message would be the same! If you don't know the summer path, you're not up to the tour in winter conditions, you don't have gear or even know what gear you need to be up to such a tour, it shows you don't have knowledge for such a tour yet. And of course experts will advise against the tour. Try to find a tour suitable to your knowledge, path familiarity and equipment.

Yes, Kredarica ski tour is quite a big bite, both access and skiing from it... This year I'd go only on foot, leave skis at home, my knowledge is far from up to such descent...

Let me say something too. miran447 for example take my story of Ojstrica from Kamnik-Savinja Alps. This path I hiked at least 15 times in dry conditions before tackling it in winter conditions. So I put one signature under mariborčan's post Nice day everyone

Ok I'm only interested in current conditions on the path to Kredarica and possible ascent to Triglav. Interested in hiking not ski touring... Many thanks!

This afternoon I spoke with the duty weatherman at Kredarica, Janez, who says that today around 10 hikers went up and down. They shouldn't have had major weather or snow problems/complications, and for tomorrow apparently some arrivals are also announced.

From Stara Fužina to Kredarica, in winter hardly anyone goes or no one. In winter the path from Krma is used. lp

Today Franci and I made the ascent to Kredarica from Krma. Snow starts above the forest, from where we continued the path on skis. On a solid track, which was slightly frozen, we progressed nicely and took a lot of time observing the awakening morning and surrounding mountains. Next to the track there's also a trodden path for walkers. At Kredarica we met two more colleagues, one descended on foot to Krma, we preferred to continue the descent via Triglav Glacier to Dom Valentina Staniča and then to krnica Za Cmirom, where conditions for pure skiing were much better than to Krma. Skiing today offered very solid powder, snow will be gone very quickly. On foot descent to Triglavska Bistrica is about half an hour. LP Andrej

Does anyone know what conditions are like on the path from Pokljuka to Kredarica? Actually I'm interested from where on there's still snow and how much?

On Triglav I was on Tuesday from Krma, snow starts at ca. 1800 meters. I recommend access from Krma, as snow fields on the path from Pokljuka can be quite nasty. Some pics you can find at www.mitja.alpinizem.net

Path from Krma to Kredarica fully snowy but well trampled. Today quite a few of us at Kredarica. Sky cloudless, nice winter idyll, only at top strong wind messed a bit, but later calmed. To Triglav summit today apparently no one. Snow soft in afternoon, crampons not needed, anyway "cokle" would collect on soles. In short - day to rave about!

Really nice day, cloudiness stayed behind Bohinj mountains, only wind was very annoying, but died down in one hour, so at times too hot on south slopes, sinking in already quite annoying.
