Vansims, nice report. Last year's incredible autumn really allowed insanely beautiful mountain trips. I also experienced some unforgettable ones.

Today I headed to Vrh nad Peski. But then I also went to Batognica and Krn. You can make a nice loop tour. From the parking lot at the end of Krn village, past Planina Leskovca under Rdeči rob. First time on Peski. Weather today really gorgeous. Warm calm. Krn was in the sun almost all day. Met some hikers. This year I was up on Trirat. Each time foggy without views. Today though, like it wanted to make up for it. Beautiful views of surrounding peaks.

It would be right if the candle you bring, you take it back down too. Scattered burnt candles around the Pyramid are not decoration.

I agree with you. Whenever possible I go up and will take the burnt candle down. Otherwise there was no trash around the monument.

Yesterday's traverse of part of the Krn Mountains started in a beautiful morning past Planina Kašina and Planina Leskovca to Rdeči rob (1913 m). From Rdeči rob along the ridge to Škofič (2012 m), but since the path to Škofič ends, we turned back and at the first possible section turned down left to the visible path leading to the monument on Peski (1990 m). From there still to Vrh nad Peski (2176 m), descent and continuation under Batognica to Krnska škrbina, and final ascent to Krn (2244 m). Just as the day started, it ended, in a wonderful day with beautiful views. Note that descent from Škofič is possible, but only for really experienced.

Ločanka, this dog was just borrowed for the "photo", otherwise he came with two gentlemen who came to the top of Krn to wait for or admire the sunset.
Regarding descending from Škofiča, I meant to say we returned back - all except one experienced one who really descended from Škofiča. nasmeh

Today it was really summery on Krn. For sure I decided to go via Korenova then to the top and descend to Batognica and past Lužniško jezero to the start. No wind or fog. You can tell it's a shorter day, as I descended one hour in the dark. Few hikers for a workday. No snow anywhere. Nice views. And Batognica was fog-free, unlike what I usually had except the last time.src=/slike/smile.gif

Nice Sunday morning and forenoon on Krn. Kitschy warm, good that at least on the top and below it blew a bit to cool the person somewhat. Quite a few hikers.

Hello! Can someone perhaps advise which path to Krn is more suitable for vertigo sufferers, i.e. with fewer precipitous views along the path: the one from Planina Kuhinja or past Krnsko jezero?

@funnyboy, we would shorten the tour a bit if we went straight from Vrat to Skutnik and then directly to Krnčica. Congratulations
