Yesterday with Nina we drove to Vršič, direction Mojstrovka namely via Pripravniška gully. Many mountaineers went through Vratca, we rather headed right. Ski tracks made, somewhere in the middle, but where shade is it's hard as concrete. I hop to M.Mojstrovka to ski down, Nina goes on towards the Big one. Quite a few people at the top, no wind, really pleasant. Snow was nicely softened, super skiing. Then heels back on skis and towards the last Mojstrovka. Beautiful terrain, no crowds, just one tourer enjoying the top. Panorama such that it's hard to go down. Ski down towards Drevesnica, then traverse left and arrive directly under Vratca. Skis on backpack and in 5min I'm through. Descent through avalanche a bit more annoying, mainly because of rocks. What to say; again one of the nicer days in mountains..velik nasmeh

This morning I was on Mala Mojstrovka with my better half nasmeh (@kgregor), conditions were excellent, views far around, quite a few visitors too. Attaching some photos.

This morning for warm-up to Slemenova špica then via Hanzova to M. Mojstrovka. After the entire secured section snow underneath and ice. In my opinion helmet and self-belay kit mandatory, because very slippery and also when it warms up an ice candle can fly. Otherwise ideal weather offering excellent views.

Today MM offered nice views, it was quite windy, not much snow and it is compact so crampons grip well. It had very few visitors, we met only one female hiker. Best regards

Does the road to Vršič being closed mean you have to walk three hours from Kranjska Gora to the start first, or can you get closer? Thanks for the help. nasmeh

The fact that the road to Vršič is closed is false information, I was there on 2.1.2015 and it was normally drivable.

Hi, yesterday I was at Koča na gozdu. To the top of Vršič the road is normally drivable, but allegedly not plowed on the Trenta side.

It is plowed, but there is some light snow on the road. At least yesterday I saw it like that. The road is drivable from both sides.

Yesterday on Mala Mojstrovka. The road to Vršič is normally drivable, in the morning a guy with a truck was driving in front of me sanding the road. On the radio announcement that Vršič is passable with chains, but I came up just with winter tires. From Vršič over Vratca to Mala Mojstrovka. On Vršič in the morning a bit windy + fog at times. Still decided for the ascent. The whole path on snow, only at the top of Vratca dry. To Vratca clear, then to summit visibility to 5m in front. And at the right time right place - on top it opened up. Sunshine. More in pictures. Mandatory winter gear.

Mala Mojstrovka is actually 2332 m, so no confusion.
I believe you are just checking who notices first.

@zobkii, pic 4, that's Grebenc, Vratca are on the other side towards Slemenova špica or the saddle when you head to the Hanzovo climbing route on MM nasmeh No hard feelings mežikanje

Yeah.. looks like in too much zeal of "critique" I forgot to praise the nice trip too velik nasmeh . But my comment is well-meant anyway!! Isn't being properly informed still better than living in delusion??
