Damn, you're some smart ones that it's already hurting you.

On Monday I was on Little Mojstrovka via Hanzova path, reporting that snow doesn't cause problems on the path yet. You step on snow at 5 spots, but it's on gentle sections and didn't cause issues.

Probably most know that, likely Smreka wants firsthand conditions to better plan the tour or change the target? Like (example) "Path to Vratc is trodden even for hikers, no sinking, higher towards saddle it's firmly frozen but steps are made and no issues. Other side towards summit ok in morning, later softens and sinks a lot. Path to VM without issues."? Is it so hard to be useful or just shut up if you don't know? I don't know when and especially why this once very good and useful forum with comments degenerated to 24ur level and similar crap. Probably comes with aging of "firstcomers" here and strengthening of their general grumpiness and superiority, I see no other reason, as younger (or less experienced) use FB for info. good luck but don't forget, you weren't born smart if someone doesn't believe, read your first posts here, if nothing else you'll see you were less grumpy and more useful.

For many who go to the mountains and don't have time to gain experience over the years, it would be best at the starting point to shake hands and accompany them on a path that exceeds their abilities. No problem, mountain guides are expecting them. Many want to know every step on the path before the tour, so that they don't carry any gram of unnecessary equipment with them. Of course, I don't forbid anyone from publishing novels after the completed tour. The conditions on MM are winter and whoever has any salt in their head knows what that means.

No, conditions are winter both in the case if all gullies are completely done or if all jumps are out. But why talk about that. Whoever understands it, understands, whoever doesn't, won't either.

For all who don't know, this means that you must take crampons and ice axe with you, even if you might not need them.

You won't believe it, even some who have already had crampons on their feet don't mind some information about what to expect in the gullies.

Bongo – thanks for the quality information. Of course it's self-evident that the conditions are winter conditions, but still some of us want a more detailed description of the current state, which helps us in the decision. Unfortunately, this forum has lost its red thread.

You won't believe that the mountain guide himself, years ago during training, suggested that before the tour we ask around about conditions (locals, huts, mountaineers who recently did the tour). Apparently he often does that himself too. I know winter conditions in the high mountains, I was only interested if someone recently did the ascent and which direction and how it was. Just informative to help with tour planning. I'll report the conditions if I decide for the tour. Be nice.

“ Probably this comes with aging of "first ascenders" here and strengthening of their general grumpiness and superiority,…” No, this comes because of disrespect for mountains and inappropriate attitude in general towards mountaineering.

@ Bongo Great comment, , full of intolerance and disrespect. Because of such and similar comments the forum is really losing its quality. A nice greeting and safe steps and really some salt in the head.

I think a mountain guide should advise something other than asking mountaineers who have already done the tour about conditions. Which route/direction interests you? You didn't ask? They will all be more or less icy, what the wind and minus did. Janez and Drago have said everything. Good luck

Does anyone know how icy the gullies on Mojstrovka are? One or two ice axes depending on ice cover? Traversable? Skiable? Jumps?
