No need to drive to Mangart saddle from Belopeška Lakes, there's a partially difficult marked path past the bivouac to the saddle.

I have a question for you who were up there recently, Is the Slovenian path repaired (fully secured), and is there still snow? I don't see it on the pictures .

No snow anywhere, and no one saw anything torn anywhere, anyway on this path you don't need so many cables, purely too many.

No worries, except mini snow patch before entering Slovenian path, where sheep cool off, no snow. Path nicely secured, pegs and cables ok, only one "serrated" (puncture or cut risk to fingers) and holding with hand you might miss it. Good luck!

19.07. on Mangart. Up the Slovenian route, down the Italian route. Path without special features, early in the morning it was still pleasantly cool. When I was returning, already a column slowly going up the Italian one (posting a bit late, as I just got to the computer now

Yes, Edina, beautiful is our Mangart, recently after a long break it thrilled me so much again that I went back a week later to cool off in its rocks. Especially the many flowers that strut along both sides of the approach charmed me. Nice day
