TomaB, on Sunday 21.05.2017 we drove by and there was still a red line across the signpost. So I think it's still closed.

oven, the road is passable all the way to the red rock, i.e. to the parking lot above the turn-off to the hut. Enjoy the ride. Best

From a distance (Saturday) there's still quite some snow on the Italian one - if you're interested. I don't know more.

It's not true. Those who just guess on this forum are useless to others.
This snowfield is right behind the roadblock due to landslide. There's also parking there, from there nicely on foot along the road another cca20 min to the saddle. Have a nice day

Lubnikar is right. At this parking lot there's a sign directing hikers to the path past the hut and not along the closed road under the dangerous Red Rock. The closure probably isn't for fun.

The road to M. saddle is normally drivable.
