Every time I visit Matkova kopa, Matkov zob tempts me and then the ascent further up the ridge to Kopa summit. Well, today everything clicked for me. I drove the car even higher past Matka. Then from Lesnikovo sedlo I climbed the ridge to Jerebičje. This is a wonderful path for me that fills my soul and body. At Jerebičje summit I spotted my goals from yesterday. I was more concerned about Zob, since there are several descriptions for Kopa, but none for Zob. So at Jerebičje I still didn't know what awaited me. I slowly continued down Jerebičje ridge to Matkovo sedlo and in my mind, looking at Kopa, sketched my route to its top. Volkov's picture and description helped me greatly. Thanks! Where I had to turn right I knew well from before, when I had walked part of this path once. The path to the double window, actually there are five, is very well followed. I went through the two larger windows twice and then descended to the deeply gaping gully below me leading up to the ridge. At the gully edge I went lower, carefully crossed it and climbed to Zob on the other side. Damn, up close Zob wasn't so easy anymore. On the right a narrow ledge offered as the only way up. First I caught my breath well and then concentrated on climbing. Good that the rock here is compact, difficult part short, some brush for aid and holds reliable, else I'd have quit. Descent still worried me a bit. Zob's ridge is very narrow too and with strong wind demanded concentration from me. After summiting both Zob spires, a descent variant from the saddle between spires to the other side offered. I chose it. Start was fairly easy, through brush by the wall, then some tough traversing meters in near-vertical wall and descent into the scaly overhanging belly. On ascent to exit I found nice triple window and in it remains of wildlife skeleton. After demanding Zob descent I pondered a bit. Then back to the gully and up towards ridge. Slope got steeper. Higher the gully splits into more. Right didn't suit me as it led to near-vertical unknown wall higher. Left vegetated, so middle one. Thus in enjoyable climbing I reached gully top on ridge for Kopa summit. I tackled ridge on far right edge as almost no brush there, used the little for advantage. Higher two options again. Narrow near-vertical rock step or easier track bypassing down right then up gully to top. Rock step lured me, first meters quite scree-filled and looking at track below nearly regretted. But after few meters solid. Last meters to summit overwhelmed with indescribable emotions. Janez, you did it. Enjoyed summit long. Other peaks empty, only on Ojstrica saw someone not rushing to valley. Descended easier Matkova side, easy from yesterday.
