Vinko, it's not winter anymore, it's already April!
Anyway, you can see for yourself that it's more dangerous to go to Kamniško sedlo than anywhere else. I wish you a speedy recovery so we can still do the agreed tour.

What years, Drago. Don't say that, don't give up, we're in our best years. We'll climb many more peaks and ridges. That 'slowly' is still very, very far.
Zlatko, we'll drink 'beer' together, but after the tour I suggested to Drago. Feet soaking in cold Savinja at good inn Prodnik in Ljubno ob Savinji. Agree e-friends?

Today on Kopa. Worth mentioning snow field is only one, where you leave the "path" and go towards the summit.

Matkova Kopa 17.7.2014 – 1957m
I could also give it the title »GET-TOGETHER« that's the currently hot topic on »Hribi«
Two years have passed since we both roamed here (9.6. and 16.6.2012) and today 17.6.2014 we both return again to this demanding terrain. We invite along colleagues and colleagues who want to share this very demanding tour. Half of us gather from NE Slovenia and the other half from our area . A nice get-together is promised in quite demanding terrain that requires experienced visitors with some mileage…
In a nice clear and warm morning we drive to Lesnikovo sedlo (border stone XXII.196 1591m). Janez, forget the number of participants and charge with full power into the wet, slippery slope. Sweat soon drips from every pore. But our noble »Styrians« don't give up and on the first break we drink (not quite all ) - red »spritzer«. Then... as if they had gotten Red Bull, they no longer sweat…
The Jerebičja ridge follows, Matkov Grintovec (border stone XXII/222 1711m), Jerševec (border stone XXII/227) and then that section to the right (towards the tooth), which I do too early cck. 50m . We correct the mistake and soon face up close (with eyes in the tooth) the rocky - tooth (kočnik / sedmica), which caries is already slightly eating away at. Now, a steep ascent I./II. awaits us. The difficulty is only in the loose scree that rolls under our feet. We climb to the partly ruined ridge, a little fight in the dwarf pines and then that famous rocky barrier. It's not high but left slope, right even worse (dwarf pines hide the real concrete depth) and no (at least for me) key hold (all turned downward) and scant steps . We help each other a little, the last ones use the rope for belaying. Then a steep gully follows and traversing to the right (lone larch). The traverse goes well for us, although the slope below is quite serious and the last ascent to the first peak (Austrian) remains. There are two options: the gully, which gives a feeling of less exposure (but it's strewn with scree) and a bit to the right of it steep grassy/dwarf pine/rocky slopes (more exposed). Some are for the gully and consequently projectiles fly from it, which at that moment prevent the others from a safe ascent. The others tackle steep grass/dwarf pines, rocks, which stay too much in our hands… Safely we all climb to the first peak, a little rest and then to the second - our peak.

The descent follows, difficult, it's hot, crumbly, only the dwarf pines help us. I sigh in relief when we are on the path that traverses. The traversing of the gully follows, it's humid, heavy clouds are gathering, we hurry. The ascents are strenuous due to fatigue and we cross the Jerebičja ridge lower.
At 14:00 we are at the starting point (start 6:55). A surprise follows…. the noble Štajerci pull a cooler bag out of the car…. Thanks, it hit the spot…!

'geppo' and 'JTrogar': Your ascent route to Matkova kopa interests me, I'd like to climb it too. Maybe sometime together. If I understand correctly, you bypassed Matkov zob (Marijana and Marko call it 'pronounced tooth') from below on the right side. Right? I went left of that tooth and along the bare ridge to the top, didn't see the lower window or your gully anywhere (see my album Ridge traverse Pavličevo sedlo - Mrzla gora). It seems Matkova kopa can be ascended from several directions.

We didn't bypass the tooth, but came approx. 50m above it. Traversed the gully above the tooth and steeply up to the ridge.
Then along the rocky ridge to the rock barrier (about 2.5-3m high - key spot here) and into the steep chute (exposed). Before the next rock barrier (there's a ledge on top) you can detour right (a bit over scree) and a followable path opens right next to the rock (lone larch). Here below the summit you traverse and reach a loose chute loaded with rocks. In such a crowd as we were (8 people) the chute is dangerous due to stonefall, there's an option a bit right and more grassy/stony/little scree/larches to the top. Maybe a bit more exposed but less stonefall risk.

Jovan, the path past the windows (there are five) is quite hard to spot due to overgrowth even if you've walked it several times. We went by these variants on the attached picture, you missed (or maybe not) the path and went straight up the ridge.
Yes, it would be nice to go up together sometime.

Today I would have needed it, when I pushed next to the gondola uphill (all rides were pre-booked).
