Thanks for the congratulations, though I don't deserve them for "stomping" through the snow. Didn't use crampons at all, though it'd be smart on the icy traverses. Followed the chamois and it worked. Worst was the lack of fitness. What did that black bird on top think when I puffed up there!? velik nasmeh

Nice nasmeh. Don't know your neck of the woods at all, cos they're too far for me .... someday take me along for the whole gully to Mrzla gora ... mežikanje

Stane, have you ever gone from the Austrian side to Matkova kopa? That "path" is still unknown to me.
Marijan, you must definitely try the ridges of Mrzla gora and Kočna and the wilderness of Križevnik once. Those are the nicest pathless areas of KSA for me!

Drago, from the Austrian side? No, I haven't gone yet. But on one occasion during the ascent towards Matkova kopa I met the Stritar family coming down from the top. They had climbed up for the first time from the Austrian side (from Belska Kočna). Andrej even kindly sent me a description of the approach, which I later lost. zmeden I remember Andrej's words when he affirmed that the ascent wasn't really to his liking.
Anyway, I've been planning a variant bypassing the lower waterfall (between us, I still haven't gone to check it out, although it so gently invites with its murmuring) and approximately directly to the top. Ah, wish ... nasmeh

Yeah, I was just reading about this approach on their site, so I was curious if you've already walked it. It would be interesting to go together sometime on this path to get to know each other. If EMŠO still allows!

This time by bike for a slightly longer warm-up. Over Jezersko sedlo into Austria and right into the valley of Belska Kočna. Fortunately, the gravel road turns out quite friendly (road bike), I've never had much sympathy for changing inner tubes. At a suitable spot I hide the bike and hop - barefoot by feel into the bushes. The waterfall that has invited me so many times with its pleasant murmuring I find without major problems. With more water it would be really impressive! Of course I hope the whole trip was just a heartfelt introduction to an even more complete story. nasmeh

On Sunday, Jerebičje, Matkov Grintovec, Matkova kopa, a little snow in the gully, but no problem. At the real gully there's a small man, but to get there it's quite a long hunter's path. Nice, warm day.

Today late morning into the kingdom of Matkova kopa. From the valley of Belska Kočna past the waterfall towards the summit. What wilderness! A person has to be a real character to be drawn up there.
The approximate route of the ascent goes to the ridge, where I crossed to the Slovenian side. To the top of Matkova kopa via the 'normal' route. Descent to Matkova krnica, ascent to the notch and to Krnička gora. From Krnička down the gully and along the marked path to the starting point. Orientationally and otherwise very very demanding!

P.s. Drago and Jovan. We'll arrange something more pleasantly passable sometime. mežikanje

The right path is also interesting, the left might be even nicer if going above Matkov's tooth (per Marijana and Marko ''pronounced tooth'') to the left ridge and over it to Matkova Kopa summit. Maybe we do it together sometime, as I suggested back in December 2014, with extension to Mrzla gora.
