From Bočna, with front-wheel drive, you can reach Semprimožnik.

The Siberian wind today didn't reduce visits, but shortened the top stop to a minute or two...
Views compensated the freezing.... Walk from Golice safe, no ice, higher up some powder over hard base...

Hello. Nice photos from Menina pasture. Is it possible to park higher on the Golice-Menina pasture path (to shorten the way)?
Does anyone know the conditions on Biba pasture? Is it plowed to Biba pasture in winter (is the road drivable)? Thanks in advance. Safe path!

Yesterday the road was drivable far beyond Semprimožnik. With 4x4 almost to the end.

We know the path to Menina from Gornji Grad, this time from Golice. The lower part smells of spring. After about an hour snow started. Pleasant solitary walk, met only one hiker with a dog to the top, middle part more fallen trees but no obstacle. Sunny day, great views and high temperatures. Many visitors at the hut. Day for the soul nasmeh

Soft views over pastures above the village Golice

The forest composition changes several times along the path

On a section of the path there is a huge amount of acorns on the ground

The contrast of three colors in real life is exceptional

The path is continuously marked with blazes or arrows

Already towards the hut on Menina planina

Very pretty signpost in front of the hut

Due to snow the fence was lowered and an excellent spot for a snack. Views wonderful!

Already returning. Little hill right behind the hut.

Once again past the tower - this time a different view.

Very little fern on the path. One of the rare clumps.

Menina from Gornji Grad 21.3.2021

Morning -12 in Gornji Grad stung fingers nicely. Snow dried, initial ascent really tough. Went via Borovnica. Slippery rocks and roots made first 1.5h grueling. Above 900m easier, more snow. Where path from Semprimožnik joins it was trodden to hut at Menina. Sun no wind, fluffy snow underfoot. From hut to tower at Vivodnik virgin white, glad no one walked there today. Fresh cover to knees. Climb tower photo bit, real winter this year! Back past hut chapel to Špic, down to edge, then some up to Vetrnik ski tracks to valley. Descent to 900m poetry, then catastrophe! All morning ascent troubles powered up on descent. Luckily butt only once nasmeh

. At 11:30 into Gornji Grad, home cooking smell to car. Feel like world ok, really?

I start in Češnjice and continue on unmarked paths to the top. Descent on marked path to Golice then road back to car. Both paths have plenty of fallen trees needing gymnastics, road from Golice to Biba pasture currently impassable.
Some snow still, old and new. nasmeh

Road from Češnjice drivable almost to Biba pasture. We parked at parking 30 min before Biba pasture, but could go higher no problem, just below pasture snow on road two spots no one drove over nasmeh

In an attempt at mushroom picking I head to Menina. I leave the car at the Vivodnik - Biba planina junction and go straight through the forest up the slope. At the shepherds I turn towards Biba and marked back to the car. No mushrooms except two fly agarics, but it was a nice walk on a nice warm day.

Grega you'll usually find very few mushrooms on Menina velik nasmeh

I live in Gornji Grad right under Menina and there really never are any mushrooms at least not on our shady side. This year especially poor for mushrooms.

Path from Golic to Vivodnik well trodden. From Vivodnik to mountain hut and on to Bibe planina less so but reachable without major effort. I mean hikers among whom I count myself. From Bibe to Okrog again nicely trampled.

From Okrog at Motnik to Menina Planina past Biba planina. To Biba path mostly snow-free, good 100m to shelter snow trodden and nicely passable. From Biba to Menina quite some snow, fairly trodden, in shady spots bit icy. Walking bit strenuous esp due to soft snow (warm weather) but no problem passable. Crampons desirable but not essential. Great New Year's trip!

Our PD Saturday trip was also from Okrog near Motnik, partly on marked, partly unmarked path. Up we went left directly to Vivodnik. Nice sunny day. Lower path springlike, upper snowy. Wonderful views on KSA. Short stop at hut, descent to Biba planina. Really many starts and paths, need to be careful not to stray, happens even to most experienced. Teloh blooming. Afternoon some clouds, but nice day thanks to careful leader.
Special day, besides Menina planina also gold and bronze of our girls at OI. And classmates reunion after 51 years....crazy.
