When choosing where to go? We figured Menina would have tracks done. Last time broke half Dobrovelj and we were a bit fed up.. velik nasmeh

With Milan we notice many turn back soon when see need to break trail.
True, pensioners have time weekdays. So we can make tracks for others weekend. mežikanje

Given the current snow conditions, you'll have to wait a good while longer for the "Golica variant".
In these conditions, the easiest is to park at the bus station in G.G. and go via the variant past Semprimožnik. This path is trodden because the hut is also staffed on weekends.

Today a wonderful winter fairy tale from G. Grad past Semprimoznik to the hut and on to Vivodnik. We made a track to Vivodnik. It was pretty ****** velik nasmeh

We went on 17.2. Great weather, quite demanding path because it snowed the day before and a lot fell, so it took us 4 hours up. But it was worth it. Down was fast, we were down in 2 hours. We'll repeat when it melts. nasmeh

If you want to experience the beauty of spring gentians more peacefully and alone, I recommend heading to Menina Pasture. Yesterday's visit brought me everything one seeks in these already hot spring days: from purple meadows, beautiful gentians to sky blue, especially without crowds and green meadows on even larger expanses than Velika Planina has. With my colleague we didn't meet a living soul all day, maybe today there were more people since the hut should be open. But we couldn't drive to Biba Pasture with the car, because about 2.5 km below Biba Pasture we had to park as there was still a compacted snow slide on the road. Well, no problem, we just walked a bit more than planned. best nasmeh

Yesterday we Ponedelkovci (Monday group of retirees from the Škofja Loka mountaineering club) visited Menina Pasture. We drove up with a big bus. First of course coffee at the hut. Then we headed to Šavnice and Goli Vrh. On Goli Vrh there's even a stamp and logbook. When we returned to the hut we also popped up to the top of Menina Pasture - Vivodnik, where there's a lookout tower.

Even in autumn, my spring observation was confirmed that Menina Pasture is so vast that almost every visit feels like it's just for you and your group, as on such a beautiful day as yesterday, on the way from Biba Pasture we didn't meet anyone. But the hut was open, where now and then some mountaineer appeared as a sample. No real autumn colors yet, but first shades started showing. It was nice to walk on soft, green, grassy paths and feel the vastness and peace.

Today from Gornji Grad past Semprimožnik, descent over Borovnica to the valley.
Snow above 1300m quite a bit, at the hut already half a meter. It was quite a struggle... zavijanje z očmi
