"those old" alpinists are, in my opinion, turning in their graves at such bunglers..

All I can say is: the girls are the best. It'll be better next time, but how they managed to take all that with humor is super.

I assume that mountain rescuers are mostly unofficial/official alpinists and such, they don't resent much those they have to rescue from alpinistic direction, since all from the same "barrel". Meanwhile if a hiker gets unlucky somewhere and doesn't have sandwiches for possible overnight survival besides various cereal bars, then there's a whole "fuss" about how irresponsible. Does anyone realize here that rescuing a hiker from say top of Stenar is not comparable to rescuing stuck team from S.Triglav wall. But what warms me most are such stories, the alpinist girls knew exactly what could follow if they headed late into the wall, they are experienced well if you'd call it that.

Well-intentioned advice? Better not comment, because it's obvious you're on Terra incognita! Cover yourself with a sandwich or cereal bar if you can!

The girls were under the route at about 12 o'clock. And for a route like East in Mali Rinki, rated as 3-hour tour, there was more than enough time, if not dawdling. It's just that you can get benighted quickly and it can happen to anyone... Depends on the individual how they react in the situation. But really strange that "friends" going climbing together calmly head home, even though the girls are still in the wall...

maybe they should sometimes swap viki cream and pancakes with sausage and zasko, so at least a bit "tougher".. ..then one wouldn't wonder if they'll be boozing or freaking or accidentally help someone..

Nice that they boast what they climbed and forget to mention they couldn't wait for girlfriends who were being rescued meanwhile, because they were in a hurry home... so they could lounge on the couch next day

Such patients should be punished most severely, and also these two babes, because they go climb route when they should be at hut eating jota and drinking beer Into route gotta go earlier, if something gets tricky so at least they can rescue you in daylight

yeah sure, and the alignment of planets in the universe, what a pile of crap! Actions have consequences, whether you accept it or not depends on each individual! The culture in the hills has anyway changed-for the worse! Otherwise it can happen to anyone, so we won't be too smart... I wouldn't do that myself, 100% no!

I think we've all, who choose a bit harder routes, sometimes walked a bit on the edge too, but we had a bit of luck with us, so as Juš said, don't be smartasses, let them be an example so we don't do it ourselves. LG I don't know how many routes you've climbed, I've done some, of course as second in the rope team, so not bragging. The climbing school gave most of us even greater respect for climbing and partners, the school will surely benefit the girls too and they won't repeat these mistakes, so don't judge, because we're not without sins either, except exceptions of course. Have a nice safe weekend everyone!

"Otherwise it can happen to anyone, so we won't be too smart..." I absolutely agree with this statement! And in the mountains you learn who the real friend is..., not in the valley!

LG I don't know how many routes you've climbed... hahahahahahahahahahahaha, that's why I wrote Terra incognita! Seems it goes by generations: camaraderie, friendship, underestimating scree, "threes", fours, etc... Unfortunately it can cut you down, so you don't even know about yourself!

MatejaP, but I don't see that much problem in rescuing the girls (although, hand on heart - East face orientationally really isn't demanding and they should almost have climbed it without problems even with a very late start). But okay, it happens.. .. I see the problem in that those guys zoomed down to the valley while the girls were still on the wall. As far as I read from their post, they even came with the same car (!). What stings me even more is that they obviously don't find it strange at all. That's worth all the condemnation! I'm really curious what reaction their solo action will get from their climbing club.

not just what kind of friend, but above all what kind of person he is....you have to avoid such a one already in the valley in a big arc, in the mountains especially... I'm lucky that my team is really 100% and overall super...we share the last drop of water, stick together, never leave anyone behind(no, mostly I'm the slowest one), if needed we carry each other's backpack( I've done that too) in short, such a team must be, if not, better to go alone
