To the popular peak we ascended with a tour Rudno Polje - Debeli Vrh - Mrežce - Debeli Vrh - Rudno Polje. Snow of all kinds, mostly frozen and icy. On both peaks enough snow, unfortunately the snow cover is quickly disappearing and lower slopes partly without snow so need to find snow passages when skiing. 20.8.... Mrežce, Lipanski Vrh, Lipanska Vrata was our path. Started at Pri Rupah and past Blejska Koča towards Mrežce. Paths dry, fixed protections ok, except at the last rocky part a bolt pulled out but no problem. Nice circular path.nasmeh

The road to the monument Pri Rupah is dry and well passable. Snow starts below Lipanca pasture and from the hut to the top of Mrežce there is enough for skiing. More at: https://www.gore-ljudje.net/novosti/150736/

Today super conditions on Mrežce, also little wind. Path to Blejska hut partly bare, partly icy so somehow to the hut it went, further with small crampons. From hut onwards path super, hard, very quickly to the top. Most annoying part is from Blejska hut to parking, because partly too bare for crampons, partly very icy and quite a few falls happen, as many visitors.

And warning, road to monument is bare but very very icy so very slowly.

Mrežce basked in the sun today, no wind. Views wonderful. Road to Medvedova konta very icy, but with good winter tires can get there nicely, if not too much oncoming traffic. Path to Blejska hut icy. Nice mountaineer's greeting.

The road past Medvedova koča is still pretty snowy, it'll take at least a week for the snow to melt. Continuous snow starts above Blejska koča. I went to the summit with snowshoes because I had them with me. Could've done without.

Snow doesn't bother the roe deer. They were so focused on grunting they didn't notice me standing still. Young bucks were pissing at each other but mostly strutting around, no real fight.

With car only up to Planina Zajavornik, beyond that not plowed. Can't reach the monument from the other side either.

We climbed to Mrežce from Rudno polje road via Planina Zajavornik. Whole trail has nice trodden footpath and ski track too. Skied fresh snow on firm base. More at:

Mrežce rarely disappoint and didn't on Saturday either. Still enough snow for weaving between trees, upper slopes have countless ski lines and packed walker track. At noon sun nicely softened the frozen snow, skiing was great. More at: https://www.gore-ljudje.si/Kategorije/Novosti/mre%c5%bece-iii

I think it's better to park and walk to Planina Zajavornik.
We went on Prešeren Day, early enough. First time past Planina Zajavornik for me, before always from other directions. Nice snowy path through Pokljuka forests, some ascent to Blejska koča at Lipanca, but really pleasant trail even for families. Surprised us the hut was closed on holiday! Then up to Mrežce. Already midway to Blejska koča we put on crampons, safer, some parts icy. Dream weather, air, views to Triglav... from Viševnik to Kepa. This year already some great winter hikes. We're soaking it up, want to imprint all the nice scenes from ruins to larches, blue sky, white underfoot... Pokljuka has its charm. Just parking on weekends is an issue, they were handing out tickets too...
