The night was clear, perfect for our adventure. At the top there was a little wind, but nothing bad. Attention is never too much, but it's a bit harder at night because it's harder to judge where to step. In summer it would probably be more pleasant, because nicer temperatures and lighter clothing. We'll try a night hike in summer too, then we can compare.

Yesterday I was on Nanos via climbing route. No snow on the path. It starts only below the summit and even that is very windblown. Great tour for this time.

Yesterday a bit windy but wind can't spoil a nice walk to Nanos.

Hello! Matko77, nice pics. Bora knows how to 'blow hard' even in summer. Nanos is just Nanos. When it blows you good, it makes you tougher and fearless. Congrats for the courage!

Hello! This afternoon I was on Nanos. (By the way, mud before the split to steep and gentle path (nothing serious), otherwise up top not even a puff of wind and it was excellent.) Actually I went up today out of curiosity . Went to check that 'notorious' rock that crumbled off the slope these days and made a bit of a clearing. The spot where it broke off isn't fully visible. It 'happened' a bit above the 'steep' path, before the first step. The rock crossed the 'steep' path in two places; first near the rock with inscription: Sit down here, why are you standing, and second a bit before the rock with 800 m R+U 1868. Near that rock it stopped too. It's pretty big, weighs several tons, smaller rocks around it. Today diligent PD Postojna members were already removing (sawing) trees and clearing them from the path. So 'detours' no longer needed. Why the crumbling happened, maybe due to lots of rain, or other causes? Anyway (just my lay opinion!), not that bad, no panic needed at all.

Today snow +30cm. Ice on the last hold. Careful I think the snow/ice contributed to the rock crumbling. It happened a couple of days after the first snow.

Today ice, snow and wild bora. The gentle path is apparently iced over and there are no tracks in front of the hut that anyone came up the gentle one.

After fierce bora a beautiful day without wind. Took the path direct above the spring and spiced it with climbing Nanoške gullies. Ice crust mostly holds super. I was almost squealing P.s. To the heroes who go up without crampons I wish lots of luck in life.

Yeah, yesterday was serious foolishness. We quite underestimated this coastal hillock. I haven't been up for 15 years, my buddy also something like that. And all the gear was left at home. Anyway, every lesson costs something and this was very cheap, considering what could have happened, the fact is that at one point it was no longer possible to turn back at all.

This time experienced it in sunny weather. Distant views, winter idyll, plus warm sunshine on top. It was nice.

Hello! Karletto and Matko77, nothing to say, nice pics. I also admired Nanos today, but sadly from afar, just from the car. It shone beautifully in the morning sun, our beacon. It really pulls you to go up, but... soon.

Where do you suggest going from now in the snow so that it's not too risky, because I'm going for the first time and when I looked at it today it's quite snowy and the top is in fog regards

Yesterday I did the ascent from Razdrto via the steep path and below the summit chose the right variant and along the ridge to the top. For the descent, the easier path from the hut towards St. Hieronymus church and just before it turns left and descends steeply to the starting point. Already the lower part is icy, upper (right path and ridge) pure ice rink. At the top, at the signpost, better choose left direction. There's quite some snow on the path, upper section windblown to the ground and icy in places. Alfaromeo155 definitely don't go without crampons and choose rather the easier path. Yesterday I saw quite some people in trouble without crampons. lp

Today we were up there. Yes, even on the gentle path caution is not superfluous. Bottom icy, middle ideal, on the ridge icy and today windy of course! Before exiting to the ridge the traverse over the meadow can be quite nasty, as the bora obviously messes it up daily... Today some turned back because of that.... temperature: -10, windchill -25

Sunny Nanos on Prešeren Day. The sun drew a musical staff on the snow and ice, into which we rare hikers imprinted notes with footprints for a composition that Lady Burja whistled forte-fortissimo on the way to the top. The path from Razdrto-parking lot to the forest is icy and hard. Through the forest on the "tapoložni" well-trodden path to the last two crossings before St. Hieronymus appears to us. At the crossings, a lot of caution is needed, even better crampons. From the junction at Hieronymus to Vojak hut, the path is mostly icy, so a careful step, which Burja tries to undermine, is the only right one. All effort and caution are rewarded at the top with a view of the snowy kingdom. Back to the valley even more carefully and slowly, because the day is ending and the top is covered in a misty curtain.

I hope you won't be disappointed... like me, when I thought of Slavnik after seeing your pictures. I went to those parts the same Sunday, but there was such a crowd at the parking lot that we turned around and went back towards Vipava Valley and towards Kuclje. Slavnik is not to blame and it's a nice hill, just too crowded that day. Best regards
