Dunjo, would that be just for the weekend, or will you go up by spring (summer)?

And even in late spring or early summer it's highly recommended to carry an ice axe on Kopinšek's path to Ojstrica, as in the upper part on the north side there's a snowfield requiring caution. It depends on winter snowfall. Ice axe is mountaineer's gear and no hesitation on buying it, life is worth more than its price.

I confirm Otiv's finding. The snowfield below summit is really treacherous, last year guys from Koča na Klemenči mid-July still advised against Kopinšek without winter gear (they probably know what they talk about). And when I viewed it from Krofička, it was clear what the issue is.

Last year the winter was quite snowy, so much remained even in summer. This year it looks much less extreme, so many paths (incl. Kopinškova) will be snow-free and easier to pass much quicker in summer. Well, I hope I won't eat my words...

Of course, last year it was exceptionally snowy, but by mid-July the whole Kopinškova was already nicely snow-free, only that snowfield was an extensive and stubborn exception. This year I too believe it will melt everywhere as quickly as possible

On Saturday Ojstrica allowed a visit, snow more than plenty, early morning solidly firm, afternoon sinking and consequent "wading". Towards the summit winter gear needed of course, views reward priceless. The path is extended somewhat due to the impassable road by nearly two hours.

I haven't read anywhere about the road to "Pred Belo" being impassable.

Tomorrow I'll probably come visit her too. My favorite approach Kamniška Bela - Presedljaj - Korošica, where you overcome a good 1900 elevation gain.

We didn't need winter gear, up Kocbekova - ridge, down past Korošica.

Apparently you had better luck with weather on Sunday than me on Monday, when I entered fog already before turnoff to Bržič, and it accompanied me almost to descent from Ojstrica to Korošica. At least partially compensated with abundance of lily-of-the-valley on return over Presedljaj.

17.5.2015 girlfriend and I climbed via Kopinškova path to Ojstrica and back via Škarje. Kopinškova path passable only using ice axe and crampons. Best regards

Does anyone know conditions for descent from Ojstrica and Kocbek Hut at Korošica to Robanov Kot? I always access and descend from Kamnik side, so don't know Savinja side, but I'd say there are still snow patches on paths?

Easiest and most suitable for this time; Ojstrica - Škarje - Klemenča Hut - Strelovc - Robanov Kot
