Don't reinvent the wheel, get up a bit earlier and avoid payment then only pleasures await you, those 10€ you drink on the way back in the valley!nasmeh

Parking fee is still collected until 31.10.2012. Personally I have nothing against parking fee, as the road is now arranged and most of it asphalted too.

The road is good, arranged, even asphalted (mostly)! Bejšte no! jezik But should we pay for gravel too. Yeah, by this logic they should collect 10 EUR for 5 km drive on almost every road in the valley.

Obviously the price itself is already advertising. People expect god knows what up there! Especially foreigners, who maybe via brochures, tourist offices,... are deliberately directed to this road, e.g. if heading to the mountains. Maybe it wouldn't be bad to report this on some internet site that gives info on tourist scams (scams, tourist traps).

Just look where you get in Austria or Italy on those rare toll roads. Almost to a small tourist town (e.g. Grossglockner), not to some gravel where you (barely) park. And how nicely arranged and fancy they are.

But I heard Bohinj folks plan to exit TNP. Disappear asap, at least TNP inspectors won't be in your municipality. At least one reason for ripping off will be gone. In TNP you make trouble anyway. Close yourselves in your NP Bohinj with your rules and rip off foreigners, Slovenes (at least the smart ones) won't come to you anyway!

When I go to Logarska or Bohinj I go very early, because I don't tolerate being ripped off well. They rip us off everywhere, because we are sheep meant for that. I don't drink beer in Logarska or Bohinj, because they won't earn from me.
I drink it where they are friendly. In Luče or under the cliff in Kamnik, on Komna, Korošica etc. And consistently!!! In Logarska let the Plesniks drink, in Bohinj Kramar and municipal wardens.

I didn't want to repeat all remarks written by others nor those mentioned elsewhere about fining parked vehicles on
places that look like parking lots by the road, actually they are baits to fine you then. It's a whole set of things regarding Bohinj visitors. It's ripping off!!
Fine on fine, toll on toll and they earn for "beer". I should pay toll, then parking too, to drink coffee. You go ahead.
One needs to drink in good company. As I wrote where.
You can drink at home too; if you are misers.

The info is only from "third hand" a week ago... I asked a friend, a local from that area, she didn't know, so she asked further and supposedly all is OK nasmeh (don't scold me if it's different by chance mežikanjezadreganasmeh)

Somewhere I read a month ago that they have control from 5.00 to 22.00, during peak season occasionally all night, probably on weekends from Friday to Saturday or Sunday.

In these crisis times for many, they could lower the price, and I'd happily drink a beer in Bohinj for that.

Like the sea, mountains should be a public good accessible without tolls and parking fees – maybe a symbolic price for maintenance and cleaning, not fleece you.

Here the prices are still reasonable, "davc0407" check the prices abroad and you'll feel much betternasmeh!

Davc, they are accessible. On foot you can walk the whole road for free. If it were free for cars too, there'd be as much crowd and exhaust in the hills as in the middle of Ljubljana. And such people would drive up who don't know how to behave in the hills. It'd become a dump and overcrowded, so the whole area'd lose its beauty.
