For the road you need to pay something small like every year, if I'm not mistaken it's 10€ this year, otherwise in Srednja vas there is parking for only 2€ per day and free transport to Blato. Departures from Srednja vas at 5:30, 6:00, 7:00 ...

Thanks. If I understand correctly, multi-day tour from Blato is now a utopia if you have to pay 10 euros per day separately. Parking below is also not ideal, transport up only early in the morning, back you have to walk to the valley. That's fine too

Well, this will really deter us from visiting these parts. During the week there is no free transport to Pl. Blato, you have to go by car, then payment per day. Why wouldn't overnighting in a hut in TNP count for exemption from the daily parking fee? It's arranged like that, e.g., in Logarska dolina. Why not copy good practices and not invent new rules that ultimately bring bad mood to everyone.

I already had an idea about that road: if such high toll is collected, it would definitely be a good idea to try providing year-round accessibility. With winter mountains in Slovenia it's already like that, that on average in winter say one half of Slovenian hikers moves to Pokljuka, the other to Ljubelj. And the area above Blato (Laz, Jezero, Krstenica, surrounding peaks and gullies) is perfect for winter mountaineering. And if the road was at least drivable in good winter conditions, there would be quite a lot of visitors up there in my opinion. That could of course be marketed too.

Murqu50, is that with overnight stay in the hut and exemption from payment new? I only know exemption from the entrance fee to Logarska until 8 a.m. if you're a PD member.

From Planina Blato we always started very early, even at three in the morning, to do some longer day tour. At 5.30 it's too late for us. What now? Does this mean the end of hiking in these parts for us? If so, we'll just go to Austria and Italy. There they have regulations allowing car driving until 9 o'clock, then bus is scheduled. Regards!

lepenatka….No it's been quite a few years since then, we overnighted at Okrešelj and when leaving Logarska they refunded the toll with the attached hut bill.

Well, that paid PD membership is a condition, that seems to me the right approach to hikers. Bohinj guys missed the mark again. But at least here it's stated until 8 a.m. http://www.logarska-dolina.si/knjiznica/pravilavstopnina2018.pdf

I think they take too many powers; TNP is a budget spender that we all pay for. Why doesn't PZS speak up here, since we pay the membership fee that loses value? Anyway, to me this seems like skinning aside. Annual sticker 150€, in Logarska only 20. Do Bohinj people have their own laws??

Thanks for the info on the money refund, margu50, if I ever overnight in these parts.

Well, back then it was like that, it's not said that it's still the case. If now they enforce paid PD membership, free access until 8h, it seems very proper to me.

Hmm, for Logarska doesn't it apply anymore that if you arrive say at 5h, the gate is open/free entry?

If there have been changes in Logarska this year, I don't know. From my own experiences last autumn, it was 5 minutes to seven and they were setting up the barrier. Until then free entry, since there's no fixed barrier, but they set up road obstacles. They have a fixed barrier towards Klemenča cave.

For such early cases they could check at the exit if you have a receipt/PD membership. (c:

On the return no one checks. At least my long-term experiences are like that . Until they show up at the valley entrance, entry is free anyway.

Yes, I have the same experiences. That's why I wondered if anything else changed with this new regime.
