Hi, since I don't know all paths to Planjava well, I don't know if the snow conditions on this part of the path have already been explained. Is the path from Planina Podvežak over Srebrno sedlo dry? Thanks!

Even if there's some snow, it's most likely "kopen", meaning - passable without necessary winter gear. The path you mention is the easiest approach to Planjava. Don't know actual conditions, but given the scant snow this year it could be fine.

Attaching photos from 14 days ago; what it's like up to Srebrno Sedlo from Korošica I don't know because we went via Repov Kot. Above the saddle there were three small snow patches then, completely harmless with well-trodden steps. Very likely there's nothing now.

Before the saddle there's usually a pretty steep one, but it can be bypassed lower

yesterday 12.6. via Repov Kot, all passable fine. no winter gear needed.

On the Škarje - Planjava path there's still a large snow patch persisting, requiring winter gear - when you steeply climb to the junction with the sign "Planjava - 10 min". Unfortunately fog rolled in just then, so couldn't catch it on camera.

Yesterday at 9.00 I set off from Dom Planincev past Klemenčeva Jama, along my very favorite path to Škarij, over Lučka Baba and Vilice to Planjava. Descended via Kamniško Sedlo over Pasje Sedlo to Logarski Kot. It was warm and slightly windy. Path to Škarij is bp, from Škarij to halfway to Planjava well marked, further on poor markings, like last time I went this way. Along the ridge to the west summit and hang out there. Return the way I came then right towards Kamniško Sedlo. Path Planjava - sedlo ok. At the sedlo I quickly down a dark Kozel, soak up some sun rays and dash down below S wall of Brana. When out from under the wall, I soon branch off towards Pasje Sedlo, first time here. From sedlo to kot the descent is long, very nice and strenuous. Sit a bit below Planjava wall, last descent and I'm on the scree in the kot. Excellent! Refresh at the trough and head to the car on the nicely renovated road. Road nicely done, forest cleared nicely. Shoulders arranged so you can pull over nicely for oncoming vehicles. Last year Solčava - Logarska road renovated, this year through Logarska and can say these parts now well accessible and nicely arranged.
Real steepness tames and calms even the most stubborn heads. Regards

Planjava 14.9.2020
Tour Pasje Sedlo-Jermanova Vrata-up NW ridge to Planjava-Vilice-Lučka Baba-Škarje-Rjavski Vrh-Grlo started in Logarski Kot where I parked still in dark. Had to doze a bit more till dawn. Forgot headlamp at home in other backpack.
After about an hour it got light and end of nice dozing. Donkeys and horses in pen behind hut not disturbed at morning graze as I crossed their pasture. Crossing electric fence I was a bit low and strong jolt fully woke me. Walking on scree not my thing, so took hunter's path which is nicely laid. Up to Za Ogradcem path quite steep, after it over my legs rested a bit before steep continuation. That last part to sedlo, willy-nilly on scree, took lots of calories.
To marked at Jermanova barely recovered for continuation. On Okrešelj express first sun rays caught me, warming chatty ones above on way to Brana. Stopped at hut and greeted warden from our parts.
Before continuing stood in front of hut, stared at Planjava wall and by memory led my route up it. Didn't miss entry this time. Before gully to kotel under Brinškov chimney chamois greeted me, keeping company till Kunaverjeva Police. Crossing to NW ridge quite tricky, must stay alert. On the ridge itself then enjoyed big time. Path occupied my thoughts, forgot everything else, just me and mountain.
From Planjava continued via Vilice, Lučka Baba and through Grlo to valley. On descent through Grlo playful fox and herd of 20 chamois kept company.
Nice happenings up there, body held, soul happy with new nice feelings and memories.

Very nice tour Janez.
I have another question, if someone can please answer. Is the path from Korošica over Srebrno sedlo to Planjava suitable for a still fairly high-mountain beginner. I have been to Grintovec via streha, Ledinski vrh, Rogatec and similar demanding ascents.

Planinecizgg, I think yes. I think it's a good tour to get to know our Alps. Of course it depends on the individual. For me it was the first more serious tour, where I extended over Vilice to Ojstrica and back to Podvežak. From Korošica to the saddle the path is extremely beautiful. Slowly and with enjoyment.
