Yesterday from Vršič along Grebenski path to Prisojnik, at the top waited for sunrise, then checked if Zadnje okno was still open :) and it was.... then continued to Planja saddle and to Razor and then descent towards Kriški podi towards Zadnjica valley. Path from Prisojnik to Razor via Zadnje okno is fantastic, all steel cables and pegs in good condition. Thanks to the gentleman who stopped for me in Trenta and drove me back to Vršič!
because I was too early at Vršič I took some star pictures :)1
I stopped again at Prednje okno... otherwise I would have been at the top before 5 :)2
at 5 already at the top3
view towards Martuljške lepote4
my next destination Razor and behind it already illuminated Triglav5

at 5:59 it finally succeeded for Velika Martuljška Ponca7

the path that leads to Zadnjem oknu is fantastic20

I really like picture 13, where the side ridges of Mojstrovka and Travnik are clearly visible, with Mangart in the background bathing in the morning glow. Really nice!

It tempts me to conquer Prisojnik and Razor in one day. If not this year, then next year.

Where to start?

a) at 32nd hairpin of Trenta-Vršič road... Triglav 1:25.000 map says it goes from there via Kranjska planina for Slovenian mountain traverse (mark 1)... how's parking nearby? b) at 29th hairpin of same road, from where Jalovec 1:25.000 map has red marked path to Kranjska planina and a bit higher also parking mark (real?) c) Vršič: known to me, descriptions on hribi.net too.

I'm asking for start because on long tour return seems shorter to a) or b)... assuming return with easy run, wonder how much faster I might be if I choose a) or b) vs c)? This from Vršič could take respectable good 13h with some expected breaks and photographing at normal walking pace, maybe more.

Planned the route like this:

start from a) or b) - via Kranjska planina – Gladki Rob (junction to ridge from Vršič) – past Prednje okno – Prisojnik – Jubilejna pot – Škrbina – junction ''Razor-Prisojnik'' – sedlo Planja – Razor – back to junction ''Razor-Prisojnik'' – via south path over Zadnje Plate return to a) or b)

thanks for help and all the best in the mountains wink

Isn't it best to start highest - at Vršič?

Last year I didn't find marked path at hairpin 32.
At hairpin 29 path is well trodden, across planina with lots of grass, need a bit more attention to cairns. Parking spot at hairpin and 40m higher for more cars

Hi,
it interests me how the path is that branches off from the south towards Zadnji Prisojnik, after the branch for Jubilejna. It is drawn in on the map. 30 years ago the marks were very poorly visible. How is it today?

Thanks for the answer.

Prisank and Razor in one day: 3. hairpin - Koča na Gozdu - Prisojnik - descent via Jubilejna to the saddle - Razor - descent over Kriška stena - 3. hairpin.
Extremely nice tour, maybe hop to Kriške pode for a cold one and to Križ for bonus.

Exactly what you wrote, Jus, I plan to take my own this year.

But from the hut in Krnica, does some path branch off to Koča na Gozdu, or do you have to go to the road?

Thanks

Juš, great suggestion, quite a demanding tour though. If you go for it, no-brainer to hop on Planja too.
Maybe you know if it's possible to bypass the snowfield on Hanzova or if it's gone altogether? Thanks.

This is the "snowfield" on Hanzova on 22.7.2015. If there has been no snow since then nasmeh, then you can surely bypass it mežikanje
