How about from the south side... On Sunday I plan to go from Radušnik... where does the snow start... is an ice axe needed?

Has anyone by chance gone via the climbing route and is the path dry?

I went alone today. The path is mostly dry, about two traverses lower down are under snow. The biggest trouble might be just one completely snow-covered scree with quite a thick blanket (cable under snow!). I met a couple who rather turned back - but I thought that with careful steps and close to the rock you can climb up nicely. But I don't know how it will be with the snow now that it has properly warmed up.

Hello,

I'm interested in how the climbing route on Raduha is? Are the snow patches smaller? or passable without crampons?

Maybe someone was on Raduha this weekend... those pictures are from 11.6. From the pictures it's clear that the fixed cables are almost accessible from under the snow... maybe now fully accessible?

Yesterday I headed to Raduha. I took a more demanding approach. So I start at Rogovilec-601m a.s.l. First to Rački vrata then along the ridge to the top. The first quarter of the ridge very "tense" then it's easiervelik nasmeh. In the morning still nice views to other peaks then it got cloudy. Arrival at the top in fog that enveloped the summit but at least not windy. Quite a few people still at the top despite the later hour. For the ridge I needed almost 3 hours. I was a bit "late" as I overslept in the morning. From Raduha I descended towards the start-Rogovilec via Planina Arta. The path drags on and is quite airy as it goes over exposed grassy ledges dangerously in wet. But this time it was dry as dust. I reached the starting point at half past six in the evening. From morning to evening-you have to take time for the mountains. More in the video and on the blog.

The snowfield before the end of the climbing path from Grohot is no longer a problem.

06.07.2014. Raduha

Start from Rogovilec. Then to Klemenšk and steeply to Tolstovršnik. From there over Javor to Podskalovje and finally to Grohat. There we took a short break and then to the climbing route. It's exceptional. But it deceives you, because it takes some time to reach the difficult part. That part is well secured, but also dizzying in some places.
At the top we rested again and then to Loka where the deer goulash is excellent. Planina Arta and then along the path to Rogovilec. That path is quite nice, but some exposed spots require caution. When we got to Rogovilec it was already dark... With me were friends Cviko and Jež.

Conditions are ok, between Javor and Grohat there's only one snowfield on the first slide - no obstacle. On the climbing route there's also some snow, but we'll just touch it. Only the part of the path between Javor and Grohat is somewhat poorly marked, but well trodden. The only place where we can mess up is after one slide where it seems completely illogical to turn right upwards, but an arrow under the mark warns us about it. The problem is where there's a trodden path ahead that seems like the right one...

Raduha is fantastic! The climbing route is really a nice thing. Very difficult? Personally I think the difficulty is a bit less, but that very is probably because of some very exposed sections...

On Saturday 5.7. I was on Raduha. Bukovnik-Grohot-climbing path-Velika Raduha-Durce-Lanež-Durce-Grohot-Bukovnik. On the way to the wall no snow on the path. In the gully above still a lot of snowfield that doesn't bother safe ascent. Protections flawless. On the return also to Lanež. Weather and views not as good as on Friday.

On Monday we visited Raduha, from Bukovnik over planina Grohat, unfortunately rain spoiled it a bit below the summit, so we didn't step on it. Still a nice trip and genuine contact with nature.

Yesterday my wife and I were on Raduha via the climbing route.
Really nice areas. For my taste the path from Loka doesn't reach the knees in beauty of the path from planina Grohat. The climbing path is nothing special, just at one end you have to make a bit of effort to pull over the rock. Caution is not superfluous. Especially yesterday when everything was still wet from rain. Rocks were smooth. Helmet in my opinion mandatory, because the path goes under steep walls. We had svk with us, but didn't need it. Somewhere I read someone comparing this path to Hanzova. I don't remember which one. Not even H. from Hanzova. Of course I don't want to influence that someone would take it with left hand. Especially in wet it's dangerous. Sun no longer shines into the wall. On the way back we jumped also to Lanež, where we took pics at Aljažev stolp. Substitute for Triglav, which we planned yesterday, but changed mind because of weather
