This morning from Draga to Roblek. A bit above Poljska planina the path first becomes quite muddy, right below the hut also some snow. People today at Roblek quite a few. In front of the hut I catch some sun rays, but due to the wind that occasionally gusted, the jacket was very handy, as well as the hat and gloves. Like mid-winter Otherwise fine, anyway

I'm curious what the path to Roblek from Draga via Poljska planina is like - the Friends of Begunjščica will know best.

....Forest road from Draga to Poljska planina is passable. Almost no ice. A little further from the stacked logs the icy path begins. Small crampons recommended. Roblek Hut on Begunjščica will be open for weekend and holidays. We met the hut keepers. In the valley fogs are chasing each other, at the hut you're speechless, it's so beautiful

Sorry if anyone gets offended, but I think that in such a hut as Roblekov dom and in such a location, the hut service should be at a higher level. I don't know what PD Radovljica thinks about all this, anyway such huts are run by people who get there through connections, whether suitable or not. Sad that even in mountains it's only about maximum profit. What about hikers' satisfaction??? Sad!

Why should I seek satisfaction in huts if I go to the mountains? Isn't it easier down in some good tavern? Up there let's try sometimes to spend a day without huts!

In good weather I always spend the day in the mountains without a hut. In the fog, though, at least a good tea in the hut comes in handy. Otherwise, I completely agree with you, dprapr.

People are, thank God, different: some are loners and seek solitary and remote paths, others like company. And for the latter, I believe, in winter an open hut along the way comes in handy, where you get at least hot tea, if nothing else. But I wonder why a hut is open if it really has such a poor offering. Is it an end in itself? Of course you can do the tour wonderfully without a hut, I agree! But why do we have huts in our hills then, if not to offer hikers warm shelter, food, drink, and maybe more?! It would be good to send our keepers once on an excursion, say to the Dolomites, to see what all a hiker can be offered with good will (and for an appropriate price)! But here it is also necessary to praise many of our keepers who do their job excellently!!!

I go to Roblek quite often (Friends of Begunjščica) and have only positive experiences (I bring my own food, drink some tea or beer). Based on my experiences food is excellent at Kofce and Dobrča, in high mountains I'd praise Staničev dom, Kriška planina and Prehodavci. If I also rate sleeping and hut tidiness, I'd put first Kamniška koča at Kamniško sedlo (good food, tidy hut and friendly keeper). As for comfort in mid-mountains first is Dom na Komni.

....Parking is possible around the guesthouse. There is some space also at the parking area by the water intake, for about ten cars. It's just a bit aside. It's plowed up to there, not further, good luck

Hut keepers report: Hikers should not use the parking lot in front of the Draga inn. Otherwise, you may again get into conflict with the inn tenant. Parking lots are arranged from the inn onwards, part of the path to Poljska planina is also plowed. Happy, joyful step! We look forward to your visit

Hi, Is the path passable for a good Sunday hiker without crampons? Any exposed, avalanche-prone or similar to the hut? How about the path to Begunjščica summit, with crampons and ice axe, worth going to the top? We are a colorful group, beginners and good hikers, with and without crampons, so I'm asking. These pictures have really excited me Good luck

Due to avalanche-prone southern slopes, the path to Veliki vrh from Roblek is strongly discouraged in winter.

G K, deciding on a trip based on nice photos of predecessors is stupidity. Given current rainfalls and your colorful group, it is not wise even to go to Roblek Hut.
