I need advice! I plan to check out the Triglav Lakes, and I'm curious about the best descent! We plan to start from Savica Waterfall via Komarča! Maybe someone knows how far you can get by bus, if it even runs!? Thanks in advance for answers!
Best, Sandi

The most suitable descent seems to me to be via Komna, which is also the easiest, but long. To Komna you'll spend about 2.5 hours, then another 1.5 to 2 hours to the valley. Otherwise back the same way via Komarča. It'll probably take half as much time as via Komna to the valley. To Komna it already drags a bit. Descent via Komarča isn't too much of a challenge if you're careful and experienced. I think it shouldn't cause problems for experienced ones! Personally it wasn't too hard for me. A fall is otherwise fatal.
And it'll be fun, some adrenaline!

GOOD LUCK!!!nasmeh

From Triglav Lakes you can also descend to Planina Jezero (about 2 hours) and on to Planina Blato (1 hour). The path is easy but then the road to Bohinj drags a loteek

because on that path which really drags there's loooots of traffic, someone will surely pick you up by car

Sandi, inquire a bit, but buses definitely run, I saw them recently
they also go to hotel Zlatorog

If you go only to the hut at Triglav Lakes, the nicer tour (much more scenic and interesting) is via pastures (Pri Jezeru, Dedno polje, Ovčarija) - via Prode to Dvojno Lake, back via Štapce past or to Tičarica back to Ovčarija.
No need to walk the road from Planina Blato, as from Planina pri Jezeru you can descend via path to Vogar and then normal hiking path down to Stara Fužina. Check maps and guidebooks.
Tourist bus goes to parking under Savica Waterfall. Check timetable at

Savica Waterfall, Komarča, Black Lake, hut at Triglav Lakes, Seven Lakes, Prehodavci, back
then from hut at Triglav Lakes to Komna and to Savica
bus goes to parking at Savica

I agree with Peter2, just the tour in reverse direction - because, at least for me, the best view of the lake opens when you "climb over" Štapce.

Yesterday my path led from the hut at Savica via Komna to Triglav Lakes. There weren't many hikers on the way, mostly going down. At the hut at Triglav Lakes it was really cheerful - at one table a guy was playing trumpet, others joined with singing.
Unfortunately not much views due to low clouds, so sun showed only when I was back at Komna. No problem! I just looked more at the flowers around in abundance.

Yesterday I set off to enjoy the sun in the high mountains. Started in morning dusk at Savica. Then over Komarča, which shyly hid in fog at the top. Likewise Bohinj mountains. But already at Black Lake the blue sky reflects in it - oh, and there's something to reflect! Continued to hut at Triglav Lakes. Here insanely beautiful. Water in the lake so much that it merges Double Lake into single. Quite some visitors.
But since quite early, continued to Prehodavci. The beauty frenzy continued nasmeh. At Prehodavci white carpet, fairy-tale views, warm - but oh, had to return to valley. Returned same way.
These days really worth going to mountains - just pity the day is so shortmrk pogled.
The waterfall falling over Komarča is very rich in water1
Here it is necessary to step into the water2
The blue of the sky is already reflecting in Black Lake3
And there is something to reflect in - the mirror is clean4
From Black Lake onwards there is snow on the path in the forest, which is nowhere an obstacle5
Water drips from the cold spring, the path further is dry6
I surrender to the beauty - uaaau, I hear a hiker: how wonderful7

Yes, to catch such nice shots you really need to go to high mountains and with fast legs, to see as much as possible given the length of the day.mrk pogledHope the weather holds, so we can enjoy and gaze at autumn beauties.nasmeh

Velesa thrilled us with her photos. So I went on similar path today too. Sun, blue sky, peace and inner satisfaction accompanied me to Rjavo Lake. Then decided to try conquer Kanjavec too. Continued from 2200m on trodden snow to Hribarci then to summit, not sure it was my target. (Please explain if you know area better where I was.) The weather changed in the afternoon. Strong winds, darkening clouds. Tour long, strenuous (10.5 hrs), but worth it. As always.nasmeh

In contrast to these Julian Alps areas we had weird weather to Krn (read Krn post)mrk pogled, so midway we decided to head slowly to valley towards Lepena.
Otherwise I envy all who had full dose of sun raysnasmehmežikanje.
