Rutil, it's not so much about what footwear, who gets where. Probably someone could manage this path barefoot too. But how much we're willing to do for our own safety, that's another question. Glad that fivefingers were more than enough. Safe steps ahead.

26.9.2019 Partly circular path via Komarča to Black Lake 1294m, Hut at Seven Lakes 1685m, on to Zasavska Hut - Prehodavci 2071m, then ascent to Velika Zelnarica 2320m, descent via Mala Zelnarica 2310 past Kopica, ascent to Velika Tičarica 2091m (path unmarked), hop to Mala Tičarica 2071, descent via Štapce to Double Lake and descent via Komarča. Start moderate pace hike without major stops at 7.00 and arrival at goal at 19.10. Weather, views, temperature fantastic, except some foreigners whole path without crowds of visitors in this part of Julijci. Some photos at

30/7/2020 - Seven Lakes
Friend decided to hike SPP from Maribor to Debelega Rtiča without breaks in "classic style" and finished it on Saturday - 26 days. I decided to accompany her through Julijci as long as time / strength / will.
In the morning we got up at the house at the source of Soča. Since it was abnormally hot at common campsites we packed things and rather packed outside in the yard. And there's running water and a trough, can refresh quickly. So we packed and went to greet Dr. Kugy. Then on to the next point in Trenta. Shop just opened, so we got coffee and fresh sliced prosciutto, fresh bread, cheese.... oh yeah super breakfast. And after all that prosciutto thirst came with super sunny weather.
We turn back and soon branch right from the road to Zadnjica. Here it's still ok, some shade, near stream/river. We continue until the path branches right to Luknja or left to Prehodavci. We fetch water in the stream and slowly start ascending - still in shade. Soon no more shade and sun beats us like in desert. This lasts a while, few liters of sweat from me (here I decide no more prosciutto) and soon we reach junction where it's a bit better, greener. And we branch left to Prehodavci. Path soon turns to mule track, sun lost behind clouds and suffering turns back to pleasure. And so to Prehodavci.
At Prehodavci quickly eat something, then on through wonderful valley past lakes to hut at 7J. There hot again, but still decide to push to Komna. Yes, on one of my not favorite paths, since not big fan of heat. Well, two more hours and that's past too. At Komna all super, no showers cuz reservoirs emptying. Food excellent. One and a half liters of water brought by cable car somehow same price as at Dolica where brought by helicopter. Everything has limits, this to me personally quite sick ripping people off.  With Matica so far no good experiences.

If I posted my older son under this topic (page 9), I'll post the younger one too, although the trip was different.
Yesterday morning we started from Pl. Blato and via Pl. pri Jezeru - Pl. Dedno polje - Za Kopico - Vrata - Prehodavci - Hut at Triglav Lakes (overnight) - Prodi - Pl. Ovčarija and back to Blato.
The entire path is well marked and normally passable, Za Kopico is really beautiful, a little snow on the path under Vršaki, the rest is more for playing.
We spent two wonderful days in the Triglav kingdom ... tea 2 €, radler isotonik 6 €, shared bunks 12 € + TT 2 €, road to Pl. Blato per day 20 €, ..., child's experience priceless!

Thanks for the pics
If I see correctly, the path to the hut is still flooded with water. Where do I need to go now to avoid that spilled water (coming via Štapce, if that's important for the answer)? I ask so I don't search too much or get lost
I'm also interested if the flooded path is also higher above the hut, further on from that small dam? There the path goes quite close to the lake. If it's also flooded there, where is the best way to go then?
