Bravo, @atoamac for the abundance of summit markers. From this I judge that you are a regular visitor to the Carnic Alps and mountains across one or the other Slovenian border, which are completely unknown to me, as in my active hiking years I already had enough to do with our local mountains. But it's interesting to learn about summit markings in the mountains of neighboring countries through your photos.. nasmeh

From 04 to 11.09.2019 we were in Albania. This is a predominantly Muslim country. 80% are of Muslim faith, there are some Bektashi in between - this is a special branch of Muslims that is in between Catholicism and Islam - their shrines are not mosques - similar to small Orthodox churches. They eat pork, drink alcohol, do not celebrate Ramadan, their women are not veiled. Very interesting - before visiting Albania I didn't know this branch of Islam. Small communities are present throughout the Balkans. 20% are Orthodox, 20% Roman Catholics. But one must know that Orthodox at least on the Balkans are divided into two streams. They mainly differ only in the calendar - at least that's what they told me. Faith was abolished after World War II and was only allowed after the transition after 1990. Therefore the country is full of new sacred objects - of course mostly mosques. In strict communism they even demolished sacred objects or changed their purpose.
Mosque in Tirana-Ethem Bega, renovated after the transition. This mosque was closed - viewing was not possible.1
Tirana is full of new mosques - Tirana has over a million inhabitants. They said they demolished this minaret, which is now new.2
New Roman Catholic church where the current pope celebrated mass when he visited Albania.3
Viewing was not possible.4
Roman Catholic in the medieval town museum in Berat. Turks did not allow bell towers.5
Entrance to the church.6
Interior of the church. This is the pulpit.7
The frescoes are wonderful.8
Mosque in the city of Vlora.9
Here the men could look inside the mosque - first time I saw a mosque like this. Photography is allowed.10
They had just vacuumed the carpets - interesting that in all mosques these carpets are in turquoise green color.11
Fortress in Kruji - more fortified medieval town - here we could view the shrine of Bektashi Muslims.12
Interior of the shrine. These are some kind of tombs.13
Ceiling of the shrine.14
In the town Skadar we could again view the largest mosque in the town.15
Ceiling of the mosque.16
Quote from the Quran.17
Another church in Tirani competing with the building in the background.18
There are over fifty mosques in Tirani.19
Also in the medieval town Berat we saw a small Bektashi shrine.20
Interior of the Bektashi shrine - their shrines are modest.21
Orthodox church somewhere along the path.22

From the sightseeing tour on the Solčava trails..
Solčava - chapel of St. Anne by the church - is memorial protected.1

I gladly photograph churches from different angles.4

Cross on the church.6
The first chapel that I encountered in Solčava.7
Then they simply followed one after the other.8
This one was already the third in a row.9
Unique Stations of the Cross right on the road - I have really never seen such a one anywhere.10
The numbers are really barely visible.11
The fourth chapel.12
Chapel before Solčava.13
This time I had time to stop at all places up to Solčava - church of St. Lawrence in Luče.14

Cross by the church.17
At many of these churches from a couple of centuries ago I observe that the sacristy is accessed via stairs.18
On the church I noticed a sundial showing the exact time.19
Chapel in Lučah.20
I counted the chapels again.21
22
And this was already the fourth.23
Branch church of St. Anthony the Hermit in the nearby village.24
All the churches that I somehow photograph are commemoratively protected.25
26
Fresco on the church - interesting.27
Near the church there are these two chapels.28
At the chapels it is a bit harder to determine who they are dedicated to. Mainly they are dedicated to Mary and Jesus.29
