Even with a "normal" car you can drive normally to the parking lot...

With them charging you a parking fee. Yesterday I wanted to park just for 15 min and she wanted to charge 3.50€. Hello!!!!

Yeah, what can they do to you if you don't pay those bureaucrats Gorencem. Regarding collecting parking fees on state road, the first paragraph of Article 61 of the Public Roads Act (OG RS No. 33/2006, UPB) states (quote): It is prohibited to permanently or temporarily occupy the state road or part thereof and perform or omit any activity.

But is this really a state road?

Yeah, the way they maintain it, it's really more like our country . Has it changed since they collect money

The state road ends before the parking lot.

Drives into one of our most beautiful valleys by road and then complains. Best to just build a highway, who cares about preserving the alpine environment and peace.

Although I don't like to, I have to comment. You're right SIMONZOR, but only up to where you mention preserving the alpine environment. What do you have for preserving the alpine environment?? That they bulldozed the ground, opened a new wound somewhere for gravel digging which they piled for this so-called parking. Where are the oil traps then, all water from the so-called parking flows ....WHERE?? What about safety? Park at your own risk! Yeah, why if I pay! In KClj the parking is covered, under cameras and for the first half hour the price is different. What do quads do in TNP, what are the trails like, what happens on Velika Planina? I'm for strict environment protection, just not in this way: barrier, price, cashier threatening with police, when you ask her what this area offers tourists she gapes as if you fell from space

Wait a bit, that was just a remark on some above comments, I don't know from where you conclude what and how nature should be preserved in my opinion. I believe there's a special topic for that, so enough, after all here should be about Škrlatica. Regards and happy hiking.

Exactly so. Only you mentioned AC, right!! Have you ever accidentally driven over Grossglockner pass!! What do they offer for the paid toll?

Austrian mountain roads can't compare to ours in finished sections, protection with nets, galleries, road width, winter plowing, altitude. With that they are entitled at least in summer peak to "pluck" tourists for a certain amount for maintenance and renewal of all these road improvements. Nature up there doesn't ask if it can cause damage and acts on its own. Mountain road prices are normal compared to us. There e.g. Kalser Glocknerstrasse costs 1€ less than at Pl. Blato, then compare parallel: road width, asphalt quality, edge protection, height and km of road, winter plowing, hut openness in winter at top etc. With us they really collect cash on the spot, as some municipal bigwig gets the idea and usually even on state roads. At Vršič for whole 15 years they couldn't put trash bins and arrange side parking along the road, as they claimed. No winter plowing, they should arrange a gallery before Erjavčeva koča, with state money now doing new road below in sections. Where the collected money is nobody knows. That's how it's done all over Slovenia, that's why now we're where even flies don't fly.

While reading this I already thought I had missed the topic. Due to poor weather forecast, in Vrata I didn't expect such a crowd and at 6:40 I had a hard time finding parking. (3.5€ - debate on that topic) 90% of hikers have common goal - Triglav, remaining 10% Kriški podi, few promille - today morning there were 8 of us to Škrlatica. Conditions for walking were ideal, no sun, no frost, above bivouac slight wind and occasionally very fine snowing, which I like a lot in summer at fast walking. At the cross, which unfortunately was in fog, I was after two hours and 43 minutes of walking. Up there are two boxes. In one trash, in the other a full and neglected logbook. Where is the culture? Descent required a bit more caution, as rocks were slippery from light snowing. At Aljažev dom, a bit before noon, the sun came out... Next year again.

@lijaneja you're fast, they could refund your parking fee for such a feat. Good luck!

I think Lijaneja's time is realistic, I was on top of Škrlatica yesterday too, started at 4.20 and was on top at 8h. Then via Križ to Pogačnikov dom and via Sovatna to Vrata, at the car at 14h. As previously mentioned, the summit boxes are catastrophic - shame. Good luck!
