9.6.2017 Skrlatica, start from Vrata, past bivouac.
Dry, a couple of snowfields that can be bypassed/crossed with caution even without gear.

Today I was on Skrlatica from Vrata past bivouac, snowfield on scree before wall entry, which does not pose a big problem. The path is passable without winter gear. Good luck!

Yesterday's early start from Vrata past bivouac IV rewarded me with great sunrise and windlessness and nice view... Path without issues, the persisting snowfield can be avoided, protections all OK, some cables are also new since my last year's visit. Not much visit yesterday, met only one ascending it, Vrata valley still no mountaineering buzz, only bus hikers, school ending is visiblenasmeh

Any fresh info on the path Škrlatica - Rdeča škrbina - Križ. Snow, how are the markers...
Thanks

Snow is still before Škrbina, I assume also later some patches...it's probably softened, markers OK, at least last year they were...

On Sunday I was on Škrlatica...snow only before entering the wall and it can be bypassed..., no more snow further so winter gear not needed...

I was up there alone this weekend. I wouldn't go over Rdeča škrbina without winter gear. From Vrata as they already wrote bp. Lp

Today on Dolkova špica through Rdeča škrbina. Snow below can be bypassed. But the ascent a bit higher is quite demanding and one needs to be focused and cautious.

KlemenK, because of snow or something else? lp

At the snowfield you just go below it then steeply up the hill and don't touch the snow. Higher up the base is wet, because at the edges there's still some snow melting. Was here first time so don't know how it usually is. Also a shower with hail caught me shortly before, windy and cold, didn't seem much above zero because fingers froze nicely. So all that could influence my perception. Up somehow goes, down... as for anyone. I believe it's a piece of cake for some, quite demanding for the average mountain goer.

Today from Vrata, to the top didn't make it. Wall difficulty surprised me; highly recommend self-belay kit, helmet of course, winter gear really not needed.

Turned back somewhere mid-wall at 2500m; smelled rain and indeed rained a bit at path end.

Lost sunglasses somewhere between below scree and wall entry; if someone spots needle in haystack will know whose it is.

Yesterday successfully passed retake examnasmeh

Carefully and concentrated from wall along ridge to top, because really high chance of triggering rocks/rocks.

Oh, glasses still being searchednasmeh

Was there any rockfall or something?

Well I was up there first time but it seemed to me like a brigade of soldiers came recently for blasting exercises. Lots of freshly broken rocks, path very untrampled... I say, don't know how it was but it was uncomfortable for me mainly due to the thought that someone could be below me...

Don't want to scare; it can be done without triggering but you really need balls.

Today's sight of Škrlatica wasn't as nice as yesterday. Lots of hikers. Foggy at summit. Day was cold. Slept at Pogačnik hut. All occupied. 19 of us slept in dining room and corridor. Luckily no one snored. Early I went to Križ- it's on the way up. Gloves jacket all came handy. Then went to Dolkova špica as there was enough time and at 12 was at Škrlatica. Descended to Vrata valley.
This is how the morning was.1
View down towards the lake.2
Little can be seen.3
At least you know where to go.4
I meet a mountaineer - he is coming from Škrlatica.5
Some clouds6
Still nice in the forenoon.7
Brr, it was cold this morning at Križ.8
As I descended through the Rdeča škrbina, clouds began gathering over Škrlatica.9

On Škrlatica there were many hikers on Sunday. I assume bivouac IV was full, because some late ones were starting from there to summit when we first from valley arrived.
Still some without proper gear. Two Czechs without helmets turned at wall entry. Smart, as entry part is very crumbly and stuff flies from above quickly.
But it was quite cold and windy.
From the path towards the summit1
Probably the most often photographed motif from the path to Škrlatica. Clearly Triglav.2
Scree field before the entry.3
In the climbing section. Aids OK.4
Two in the gully ahead of me. Quite serious climbing.5
