Skuta (03.06.18)

The path to Skuta from Turska side, bivak pod Skuto... is dry from the first peg onwards. The traverse snowfield before the ascent will probably remain the whole June. Regarding crampons at that snowfield, it depends on each individual, I wouldn't use them.

Today to Skuta via Žmavčarje. On the path there are some snowfields that can cause some trouble, especially if you start very early when the snow hasn't melted yet. More description under the pictures. I'd also praise the workers who fixed the road to the cargo cableway at Kokrsko sedlo.....how long the road will remain nicely drivable depends on usvelik nasmeh
The first snow patch, which is small but still a couple of meters, is just before the bivouac under Skuta1

Thanks to whoever left the poles before the snow patch, they came in handy :)11

From Konec via Žmavčarje past the bivouac to Skuta, return via Gamsov skret. On the path some snowfields that can be avoided, only the snowfield before entry to the secured part needs to be crossed, I used an ice axe today. Protections are OK except the last cable before the summit that holds a big rock and question when it will give wayzavijanje z očmi. Now the mountains are really full of flowers, worth seeingnasmeh.

Today on Skuta from Konec via Žmavcarje. Before entering the climbing section there are still three snowfields.. the first is not problematic at all because we bypass it on the upper side, the second can be crossed without issues, at the third right before the wall you have to watch out (about 10 m). The rest is dry nasmeh
If you plan to visit some bivouac it's already quite crowded even during the week.. bivouac under Grintovec was reportedly packed full with Czechs today (they slept outside too) under Skuta there were also about 5 people. lp
For a better idea, unfortunately not visible the best.1

Hello. I want to do a circular route Dom v Kam. Bistrici - Skuta (via Kokrsko sedlo) - Turska gora - Kamniško sedlo - Dom v Kam. Bistrici.
I'm mainly interested whether it would be better in the opposite direction and especially what the path between Skuta and Turska gora is like, do I need a via ferrata set. I'm also interested in the path via Žmavcarje, which I would choose before the path via Kokrsko but I'm afraid I'll get lost nasmeh

Better, a bit easier in the opposite direction.
On the path via Žmavcarje it's hard to get lost if you find it properly. But it's only sensible in case of a shorter tour Žmavcarji-Skuta-Dolgi hrbet-Grintavec-Kokrško. I recommend the first variant more, the path via Žmavcarje as a separate trip to the bivouac or Rink.

Thanks kuki. But I still don't know what the path between Skuta and Turska is like nasmeh

The path between Skuta and Turska is nice, short, and easy.

But if you probably meant what the path from the top of Skuta and then on to Turska is like, then the path is very demanding. Mostly pegs help you, wire rope is strung at some places and along a short ridge a bit below the summit.

As the previous one wrote, it's substantially easier in the opposite direction than you plan (from the little ledges to Skuta it's much easier up than down). Places where SVK could come in handy are very few. Good luck.

For the next tour I somehow imagined the route Jezersko - Kranjska koča - Rinke - Skuta - Dolgi hrbet - Mlinarsko sedlo - Češka koča - Jezersko. Would it maybe be better the other way?

And I'm interested which sections are the most demanding (besides Dolgi hrbet)? And how do they compare for example to Kopiščarjeva on Prisojnik, Plemenice and Turska gora via the gully, which I did in the last month.

Thanks for the help!

By technical difficulty it's definitely easier the way you envisioned it.

If you ignore the descent from Mlinarsko sedlo, besides Dolgi hrbet you only have two demanding parts, ascents to Koroška Rinka and Skuta. They're probably easier than Plemenice/Kopiščarjeva and around the rank of Turski žleb, although much longer than the latter.

I did exactly that variant last year as you mention. Extremely nice tour for me, just the descent from Mlinarsko sedlo dragged on quite a bit at the end. I completely agree with what the previous poster wrote.

hudičk - To me your loop also seems more suitable than reverse. In your loop both scree parts are downhill. Descent from Križ to pode and then up to Skuta is better choice than reverse. The scree from Zgornjih Ravni to Spodnje Ravni really drags on the return, but better to drag downhill at end than uphill at start.
